Strengths: light, shimano disc brakes are awesome, handles well, SID XC feels like a coil fork, everythingWeaknesses: noneBottom Line: i traded my juniper trail for this and the triple butted frame is much lighter and it is red not blue like the above picture. it handles awesome and the brakes add a ton of potential for your downhill skills to improve because you can brake so much later than with v's. the best rider is a serious xc rider or racer. I raced in this years 24 hours of mud i mean uh snowshoe and did not have one problem with the bike.

Strengths: confort, light, responsiveWeaknesses: saddle ?Bottom Line: this bike is great, i rod it two years ago, and just love it. the croocountry races are real pleasure, even on very hard tracks like i use to ride.
the fork is great and the XT equipment eficient.
the original wheels are very light, maybe a little too soft.
This bike is great for racer because of is eficiency, and for occasional rider or travlers because of is confort.
just try it
A+

Strengths: Full XT Package,XT disk brakes which work great. They are the best brakes on the market. very strong frame.Weaknesses: SId xc w/ next to no travel no rear v-brake mountsBottom Line: this is a great bike the only misses it really has is the fork has nearly no travel and no rear v-brake mounts. This is a very fast strong bike .this is more a cross country race bike thasn anything isnt to good for the weekend warrior who rides around my area good for climbing but goin down shock is very good at all but brakes are great.

Strengths: Full XT component package, XT disk brakes, Sid XC, Frame similar to Easton Scandium,Weaknesses: Any component that says ovation or Marin on it.Bottom Line: I bought my Marin because I needed a good bike fast. I got this bike for $2000 canadian from my local dealer (not including sponsorship rebate) I love the way this bike handles. It is tough to keep the stainless steel brake hoses from scratching the hell out of my frame but this can be solved with a simple lizard skin top tube thing. All in all this is an excellent bike. I have already won 5 races on it so something must be going right. Chow!!!

Strengths: Superb lightweight aluminum frame with great chunky rear dropouts which should take a hammering!!
The ovalised tubes look good and do a great job. This is a climbing machine.
Shaped chain stays give good mud clearance and will take a wider tyre for those log riding days.Weaknesses: The IRC tyres which came with the bike have way too little tread for local riding!!!
Also did not like the braided tube for the disk brakes. Ended up having to wrap it in insulating tape to prevent frame wear and adding additional tie points to keep it from moving too much. Will reserve judgment on the headset bearing assembly...this might get swapped for an XT/Chris King to cope with use and Oregons winter....Bottom Line: The Indian Fire Trail replaces an aging Pine Mountain, however product loyalty was only a small decider in the purchase!
The XT disks perform excellently, several very muddy rides proved that one.
The SID XC shock was a pleasant surprise, it is a smooth ride and with marginal adjustment seems to perform well. I think Rock Shox have gotten it right, time (and hard) use will tell.
This bike climbs brilliantly and with the riser bars is inherantly more stable (why it does not come spec'd this way is a mystery).
This bikes suites the combination of steep technical climbs, fast descents and slow speed technical riding we encounter day to day. Anyone would like this bike, a good rider would love it.
Favorite Trail: Browns Camp
Duration Product Used: 3 months
Similar Products Used: Test rode a few bikes at this level, Fisher, Cove, Specialized.
Bike Setup: Mostly XT. SID XC shock. Swapped the stem for a Race Face 110mm, added riser bars and velociraptor tyres.
