Strengths: tight, fast uphill, great look, nice component set up, steel
feelWeaknesses: lots of faults...soft shock had to be beefed up, semi-slicks lasted a week, better rims would have been good (went from mavic 227's to 517's)Bottom Line: bike rocks, many, many miles gone and still going strong. orange paint on black makes people look but not for long cause i'm gone so fast. best thing is all XT parts which takes the annoying XTR/LX set-up out of the picture.

Strengths: This bike handles nimbly. The bike has solid geometry, is light weight (24 Ilb) which allows it to climb like a bat out of hell.Weaknesses: I ditched the pedals it came with and upgraded to Time ATACs. I needed a new headset (Ritchey Logic) after a year, problem most likely my fault.Bottom Line: The climbing prowess of this bike lets you rip it up on the hills and then descend with agility. The bike has sweet Mavic wheels and the steel frame provides a comfortable feel. This bike was born to fly on singletrack but is strong on technical sections. This bike is great, I have had a blast in all sorts of conditions and terrain here on the East coast and plan to take it to Moab soon.

Strengths: XT/XTR component package. Manitou SX shock. Mavic Rims. Bike is light weight (esp. for having a steel frame...24lbs). Nice pearl white paint job... not too loud!Weaknesses: The seat (richey vector) is hard as a rock, and a bit too slender. It's not even the seat that's supposed to be stock on the bike... not sure why I ended up with it.Bottom Line: I got a great deal on this bike (because its last years model, only payed $800.00!). The component package is great and the frame is built to last. Plus its a perfect fit for me. I can't find one thing to complain about so far... can't wait to really put it to the test this summer. beautiful bike!

Strengths: Excellent deal 1400 CDN ($999 USD) for full XT components. Next years model is $2600!Weaknesses: None yetBottom Line: Excellent Deal. Shopped around saw a Giant ATX for $1200 with LX. I asked the guy how much to upgrade he said at least $500, so i figure I got a good deal. The reviews seem to point to a good bike. I intend to keep it for a while. The frame has a lifetime warranty and apparently they have a good customer relations record. Bought it at Cyclepath at Young and Eglington. Can't wait for the warm weather to come!

frame broke way too easilyBottom Line: This frame broke after 6 months of riding in a rut that didn't deform the front wheel or shock. Marin claimed it was rider error and wanted to charge me for a replacement. Last Marin bike I will ever ride.

Strengths:
good handling bike
Manitou shock is awesomeWeaknesses:
none that I could find yetBottom Line: This bike handles superbly on single track. Logs,
stumps, are not a problem anymore because of the Manitou SX-R shock that comes with the bike. I've
finally got more confidence going uphill since this bike takes on any hill with ease. The Columbus HYPER tubing and geometry makes all the difference. A must try bike for the serious rider.
