Strengths:    I've had this bike for going on 4 years and have never had to replace anything. Well, I changed the chain just because of the miles, and I upgraded the seat. This is a great bike for fire roads and commuting and just all around getting around. No, its not a hardcore bike, and anyone who tried to use it as such is an idiot. The craftsmanship on the frame is superb. I've since gotten a new bike but I'm loathe to sell this one as it still looks good (granted it's got a few battle scars).

Weaknesses:    Entry level bike that some fools want to use as a hardcore one.

Bottom Line:
This has been a great bike and I'll truly miss it if I have to sell it to make space. No, its not what I need for my riding style anymore but it has served me well and never let me down.

Strengths:    great frame feels so light for the price and looks like a far more expensive frame than what it is. wheels have kept together really well compared to other ones brought

Weaknesses:    crank bent after bailing bad and the chainrings got damaged really easy. the road tires are really pants and need changing as soon as possible.

Bottom Line:
wkd bike for the price rides really nice and feels so light. the upgrade potential is really high and with abit of money spent on it it could be one of the highest quality bikes around for the price. with upgraded chainrings and crank and fatter wheel rims this bike would be super strong to take on alot more than the good old trail. nice bike overall.

Strengths:    Price, Ride Quality

Weaknesses:    Brakes, Rims

Bottom Line:
Good steel frame - I've got a 20.5" which ain't to heavy. Shimano bits work fine. Promax V brakes have corroded after 8 months of being covered in cack, but they never worked to well. Rims seem a bit weak, but that could be me - 6ft 4 & 16 stone ! No other problems ecept the seat post fell to bits 2 days after I got it - the dealer, Altringham Bike Shack, swaped it straight away.
Oh and I'm not to keen on the RST forks - they work okay but they are not the plushist !

Strengths:    Rides great, good forks, good brakes etc

Weaknesses:    Bottom bracket is crap, mine failed as soon as it got muddy.

Bottom Line:
Nice supple ride for a hardtail, weighs pretty much the same as an alu equivalent but with a nicer feel. I got the 2000 one with manitou magnums, which are great forks for a bike in this price range. Wheels aren't too bad but don't jump with em as they'll bend. Brilliant bike for the price, and rides just right.
