$350.00 | | Purchased At: | Cove Bike Shop in Deep Cove | | Strengths: | This bike is really light. It is perfect for newbies. The shox are like a cheap Rock Shox. The Deore derailleur is AWESOME!! It shifts easily. | | Weaknesses: | The pedals are REALLY slippy so I'd get different ones. | | Similar Products Used: | Rocky Mountain Fusion, GT Aggressor 3.0, Norco Katmandu, Kona Blast, Kona Hahanna, Giant Rincon SE | | Bike Setup: | Stock, but will be adding new shox. | | Bottom Line: | This bike is perfect for anyone who rides around town or just does curb drops. If u wanna get more hardcore, you gotta spend more. This bike is well worth the money and comes with beefy brand name components. It leaves my friend's hurting Norco in da dust. I highly recommend this bike to anyone who wants a lite trail jumper/XC/Fun bike. Boligrafo. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$400.00 | | Strengths: | The bike is fairly light. Alot lighter than the similarly priced GT. Simply look, not too decaled up. Comfortable geometry, easy to wheelie. | | Weaknesses: | Stock stem is too long. Makes the bike handle poorly in the tight stuff. Sync shck is shat. | | Similar Products Used: | GT, trek, specialized low end hardtails. | | Bike Setup: | Stock with a RS Jett. Added a riser bar, shimano V's with seperate shimano rapid fire shifters, specialized body geometry seat and some bantranger clipless. | | Bottom Line: | I use this bike for commuting and light trails. For anything extreme I ride my '01 Stumpie fsr-xc set up for long travel(4 and 4). The Kona does the trick for commuting and city riding. It's not too flashy looking. Nice and simple. I have the b1tchen blue 2001 special edition (Kona probably just ran out of gold paint). I test rode the GT aggressor frame and it felt like a brick. Heavy and weird geometry for my body. The Kona just felt like it fit better, nice light and manuverable. It is also more upgradeable than the other bikes in it's price range. It's 8 speed, you can replace the rings and crank seperately, and the mavic rims are a little better quality than what was on the other bikes. I didn't test ride the Kona FS bikes when I bought my stumpi, but maybe I should have because I am quite happy with the fire mountain. THe frame is definately for light trail use. It has skinny aluminum tubes. I'm sure I could snap it if I tried. Another reveiwer listed "Dirty Little Secret" as their favorite trail. I weigh 190 and I think I could snap the kona there, or at some of the other trails at C.O.P. I reccomend this bike for a begginer or for a beater, but for anything hardcore, it wouldn't hold up. It's a good value for the money too, | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$400.00 | | Purchased At: | Bow Cycle | | Strengths: | Lite strong frame, nice shifting, good smooth dependable ride. | | Weaknesses: | If your gonna be doing more freeride change the pedals, cranks, bottom Bracket, shocks if you want, but they arent to bad, rims and tires. | | Bike Setup: | Kona Firemountain | | Bottom Line: | Great bike, with a few upgrades needed along the way, depending how hard core the rididng you're doing is. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$353.00 | | Strengths: | Light. But not as light as my previous GT full suspension bike. Drivetain is smooth and quiet .. easy to pick up speed. Gear shiftings are precise. | | Weaknesses: | Insync front suspension is too hard. Tension is only adjustable on one side. Hutchison tyres... sucks.... no grip. | | Bike Setup: | Standard. Planing to change a new set of tyres, dics brakes, and if possible, a full suspension frame | | Bottom Line: | Great bike. Light. Needs a little modification for pro rides. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
