Strengths:    Frame, decent derailers and cranks (Shimano Acera) for an entry level XC bike. Decent rims (Weinmann ZAC-10). Good starter bike to upgrade and play around with.

Weaknesses:    Crappy brakes and brake levers. Fork (RST-281) belongs on a K-mart bike. No adjustability and bottoming out was common. Bike decals are easily scuffed by the typical bike rack.

Bottom Line:
Excellent geometric A-frame. Allows for ease of uphilling if you're primarily an XC rider. Upgraded RST fork to K2's "Smart Fork" which was an electronic fork until it experienced a rainy ride. Didn't hold out too long, but fork still functions normally. Overall this is a great starter bike. I really like the frame. I'm sold on K2's frame technology and am planning on upgrading to a full suspension bike soon. I'm planning on going with a K2 Razorback Team bike.

Strengths:    Awesome frame, nice brakes, awesome wheels, good seat, low price, shocks work.

Weaknesses:    My derailur shift up two gears whenever I hit a jump. (This doesn't happen on all of these bikes.)

Bottom Line:
This bike is a major kicker. It is ruler of the bike world. Awesome price. Awesome brakes. Awesome gears. Awesome frame (1.5 - 2 inches in diamiter!!) The shocks aren't the best, they work great though. I can't even explain how great this bike is. Oh man, if you are even thinking of getting a different bike, I will call you an idiot. You can't go wrong with this one. It took me 10 minutes to choose it.

Strengths:    The frame is very good. Since the frame is good it allows for upgades as you need better parts.I like the feel of it.I've been riding it for a year and I haven't had any major problems with it. I paid 500 for mine and nothing has happened to it but my friend who paid 1200 for his bike has about 400 dollars of repairs and doesn't have the money. And its not becasue he rides it alot harder than me.

Weaknesses:    The shocks don't have alot of travel and therefor has limits to how big of air u can get.Several of the components aren't that good also.

Bottom Line:
I would recomend this bike for a first front suspension mountain bike. It is good to start out on and I believe that it has the same frame as the higher Zed versions. So you can update parts and work to making the bike more like those as yu improve and feel liek doing more extreme stuff. I find this bike good for jumping about 8-12 foot gaps.

Strengths:    well balanced relatively light (27lbs) bike for the price. jump monster. looks cool. RST281 shocks feel good surprisingly.

Weaknesses:    weak deraileurs (SRAM 5.0)....equipped with grip shifters...havent had any problems ....yet i have heard plenty of horrible review

Bottom Line:
good bike for the price......i wouldnt be any better on a $1000 dollar bike anyway. frame kicks arse. i can upgrade this biatch and mess with any of my friends who ride their $1200 bikes and still suck (eric "stump jumper pro" lally/jim "falls at random times cuz he cant use clip ins" kutz).

Strengths:    Price is a key point when purchacing this bike. I did alot of research before buying and foound that this bike gives alot of quality for a marginal price. The frame is very good and a keeey to later upgrades if my riding necessitates more. Stand over height is great for more technical riding due to sloping top tube.

Weaknesses:    Front shock (rst) is a little spongy feeling and offers no adjustments, but this is really not a weakness because of pricing.

Bottom Line:
Having come from a racing and aggressive bicycling background, this bike meets all my needs. It will allow for me to ride with my wife and child, but gives me the freedom to ride with my racing buddies from time to time. Getting used to shock will take some time (this is the first suspension bike I have owned), but on rougher terrain I will be glad I have it. I looked at other bikes in the same price range (DBR Topanga, Raleigh M60, M55, Giant ?, GT Rebound). Personal preference in frame geometry (sloping top tube) and appearance broke a tie between this bike and the Raleigh M60. I expect to have many long years of enjoyment with my purchace. If I get serious about racing, the shock will have to change to atleast a Rock Shox Judy XC(due to adjustability and and type of dampening).
