Strengths: Light Frame, tough rims, good combination of disc of front - vBrake on back (why don't they make more like this??)Weaknesses: Haven't found one yet...Bottom Line: I've been riding this bike in the mountains and on the streets. I ussually ride hard and like to be in the air as much as possible. I pinch flatted a rear tire once on a curb and bent the rear rim just ever so slightly. Amazingly the Sun ZJ18 rims are very good the rim didn't need to be trued only needed to have the bent area unbent. I have been riding bike all my life and this bike is probably the best inexpensive bike I have ever owned. Before I bought the Jamis I test rode a plethra of bikes. None felt as balanced but still as light for the price. Also with mostly shimano deore components no other new bike could touch it in this price range. I give it five flmain' thingies for value AND five flmain' thingies overall.

Strengths: HANDLES NICE FOR SIZE FRAMEWeaknesses: MANITOU MAGNUM FORK IS TERRIBLE. CRANKS ARE NOT SUITED FOR HARD RIDING. RISER BAR JUST DOESNT FIT THIS BIKEBottom Line: I LOVE THE FRAME BUT THE COMPONENTS ARE VERY LACKING. FOR SOMEONE WHO RIDES 4 TO 5 TIMES A WEEK THIS BIKE IS NOT SUITABLE. GO AHEAD AND BUY A BIKE WITH HIGHER END COMPONENTS UPFRONT.

Strengths: Great price, Good parts, strongWeaknesses: HEAVY!!! HandelbarsBottom Line: Its a great bike for the money. I personally dont like the riser bars and high rise stem. Its got a 4 inch travel fork, always a +, and it just rides great. Get it for a CC rider or just the average jo bob rider! More too come as I test it longer

Strengths: Nice, responsive Manitou Suspension, excellent stock tires, rides beautifully on technical trails yet flies wide-open when running fast. I thought it performed very well for a front-only in the downhill as well. Quality Shimanos and easy gear changes make shifting smooth, especially uphill. The chain never jams though it doesn't have a fancy gaurd. Light for a slighty oversized frame and very strong for curbs, steps, and jumping.Weaknesses: I don't especially like the seat, but I use a gel pad cover anyways. Tough on some uphill climbs, in part because of the handlebar. The biggest negative was realizing the tires require a special adapter to pump. Wasted a day around the lake because of that.Bottom Line: The bottom line is the Durango is an outstanding bike for the price. I paid a little more for mine than I would have liked, but I am stisfied with the results. It outperformed my GT Karakoram hands down and smoked my late Trek. It's my favorite bike for the around-town grinding and technical tests. It outperformed my expectations even after riding a '98 bike of the same caliber. It's my front-only bike of choice and I'd recommend it for any rider from rookie to experienced unless you only desire uphill battles for some absurd reason.
