Strengths: Solid construction. Everything works. No glaring weakness. Nice color. Lightweight for cost. GOOD WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION OVER REAR WHEEL. Easier popups, good traction.Weaknesses: Overpriced. Cheap chain guard. Added screws to chain guard. Seat is marginal.Bottom Line: Excellent starter bike. For trails and road.Add some stuff and it gets heavy. Keep accs to minimum.
Duration Product Used: 1 Year
Price Paid:
$275.00

Bike Setup: Good, but had to adjust hub after purchase. Rims true. Add barends, foot traps, bag rack, light. Seat could be better.

Strengths: appearance, braking, frame seems strongWeaknesses: heavy... cheap components... I don't know if it's worth upgrading unless you already have the parts laying around...Bottom Line: I ride everywhere I go... including work and to the grocery store, and it's served me well so far. For two bills I really can't complain... I've had nicer but payed alot more, too. Definitely needs a better saddle.

Strengths: A good, solid bike for my abilities, and age group... (pushing 40). It's a great bike for the trails I use, and riding with my 6 yr old son. I like it.Weaknesses: It's Heavy!! And I thought it was just my skinny ass complaining about the saddle, after 10 or 15 miles, YOUCH!!!! Also needs alot of gearing adjustments.Bottom Line: It's a good bike for my needs, abilities, and I don't feel I got ripped off for the money I spent. It's a good, solid bike I'll have for a long time.

Strengths: Good front suspension that can be abused, V breaks kind of standerd now. 21 shimino speeds.Weaknesses: Flat uncomfortable seat. Very heavy frame. No climbing bars.
Not much high speed stability. After paying 275 bucks on the bike, you must spend 75 bucks on a new seat, climbing bars and a deasant frame!!! WEAK $$$$$$$$ chaching$$$$$$$$Bottom Line: This bike is expensive and yet is a beginer bike. I recomend the Pacific SX 3500 or anything but this! If your a beginer and just do not care about confort, weight and looks than buy this bike.

Strengths: Great starter bike for novices like me. Perfect bike for the around town ride, an evening family jaunt, or a weekend on the trail. At less than $300, hard to find a better bike.Weaknesses: Steel construction makes it a little heavy and makes the climbs slightly challenging. Shifting is smooth on flat land and on the descent, but is clumsy on the climb.Bottom Line: Great weekend bike for the occassional "mountain biking". Perfect for a quality around town ride. I have no complaints with this bike and I am impressed and pleased with the feel and comfort. I will quite possibly stick with GT because of this bike.
The only thing I am changing now, besides adding seat bag water bottles and such, is a new saddle and bar ends. Climbing steep hills is rough without the bar ends. I also plan to add peddals.
Bottom Line: Buy the bike for $275 and add about $75 and you have a great bike for the newbie at $350.

Strengths: GOOD STARTER BIKE FOR SOMEONE LOOKING TO GET INTO MTBING.CHEAP$$$Weaknesses: HEAVY, CHEAP DRIVETRAINBottom Line: THIS BIKE WILL MAKE YOU WORK, IT'S HEAVY AND ALWAYS NEEDS ADJUSTMENTS. BUT WHEN YOU BUY A REAL BIKE IT WILL SEEM NICER THAN IT ACTUALLY MAY BE. USE THIS BIKE TO GET IN SHAPE. I USE IT WHEN IT'S REAL WET OUT AND WHEN I NEED TO KICK MYSELF IN THE ASS. Strengths: Good ValueWeaknesses: Shifting seems off a bitBottom Line: So far, so good. ALthough I know the shifting needs adjustment, love the bike thus far. Yeah its heavy, but I'm not climibing Mt. Everest w/ it. Just looking to fly down some trails and not kill myself -- thus far I'm successful.
Good pruchase for a beginner, as far as I can tell.
No its not a $800 bike, but if your looking for that type of performance you shouldn't be spending only $350. Oh -- if you look hard enough you can get one cheaper -- I bought mine for 275 from a no-middle man shop. No regrets yet!
