Strengths:    full Deore drivetrain

Weaknesses:    Tektro Novela disc brakes, Rock Shox Jett fork

Bottom Line:
This is Fuji’s top of the line hardtail. The frame seems to a good solid aluminum one. It’s a little on the heavy side; they used 7000 series aluminum instead of heat-treated 6000 series. The fork is a Rock Shox Jett. This is usually a fork that is stock on lower end bikes, most bikes in this class usually comes with a Judy (if they’re using Rock Shox). The drive train is full Deore. You got give them thumbs up for not mixing parts. The brakes are Tektro Novela mechanical disc. I don’t know too much about them going in, but after my test drive I’ve come to the conclusion that they are death traps. The dealer had to adjust them twice during my test drive to get them to grip right. The cable was almost full extended with new pads; that couldn’t have been very good. If you looking for a 27 speed bike in the $550 range, I would suggest you look at following: Schwinn Mesa GSX, Giant Iguana SE, or the Raleigh M80. None of these bikes have disc brakes, but in my opinion their V brakes better then disc on the Tahoe. If you must have disc brake and willing spend a little more money, I would suggest looking at the Giant Rainier SE. It comes with Avid mechanical disc brakes and Marzocchi Z.5 air fork for only $200 more. A really sweet deal.

Strengths:    The 7005 aluminium frame is relatively lightweight yet strong. The geometry is great for XC riding. Nice paintwork, durable too.

Weaknesses:    Is aluminium, so ride is harder than steel. Stock parts suck.

Bottom Line:
This bike's good! Relatively lightweight, perfect XC geometry, strong frame. Handles well, climbs great, descends well, a steal at $750(USD) including upgraded parts!
