Strengths:    Sturdy, well made frame. Rapid fire shifters. Handles very well on single track.

Weaknesses:    Front fork poor-hardly any shock absorbsion and not threadless. Drive train is cheap but has held up reasonably well.

Bottom Line:
This is a great, cheap bike. I've owned this bike for 6 years.Ridden it on and off road, all over Florida. Finally wearing out drive train. Probably not worth spending alot of money on repairs or upgrades but since I like this bike so much, I probably will. This is no high tech, fancy bike but it gets the job done. Not recommended for very technical trails. Great bike for beginner, commuter, casual rider, or single track but due to age, you need to be able to make repairs. Rating based on comparable bikes.

Strengths:    The frame is really strong.

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
A pretty good bike. It has not let me down once. The rims got dinged, but that was because I ran too low of a tire pressure. My fault, totally. Do not buy this bike if you are going to be doing any jumping or really rough trail riding. It is not made for that kind of abuse. Overall, this bike is a great choice for the bike path or a trip down your local xc trail.

Strengths:    Good stiff frameset, Mozo by RST front fork, wheelsets seem to be of an "in house" type, but very durable thus far. Shimano RapidFire shifters a big plus! Excellent Tires as well. Handling is akin to the Trek 6000 that I ride as part of my duties as a Bike Patrol Officer at a large tribal casino. Very agile, trackstands, bunny-hopping, wheelies are no problem for this bike. Turns are easy to carve by merely by thinking about it. Power transmission is credible due to the design of this frameset. For the price, you can't beat this ride!

Weaknesses:    Shimano Tourney front & rear derailleur group. While I shouldn't expect LX or XT on a bike this price, I think one step up on Shimano's food chain (or Acera) would have been a better choice. an 8-speed cassette would have been a big plus as well. Face it folks, 7-speed is dead. While I have not experienced any missed shifts, the gear ranges suck. The factory saddle (made by Velo), is too plush and was the first thing I swapped out. The crankset doesn't look very durable either, but it has taken all the abuse I have dished out.

Bottom Line:
Overall? This is a great first time ride for an adult rider, who probably isn't like me. The price was right, and for that hard earned money you get a first rate frameset, with a decent suspension fork. I bought this bike with every intention of upgrading the crankset, bottom bracket, and derailleur group. In other words, a winter project I could ride.

Favorite Trail:   Wild Goose Trail (in WI)

Duration Product Used:   3 months

Price Paid:    $207.00

Purchased At:   Baraboo River Bike & Kayak

Similar Products Used:   I have never owned anything in this price range. The closest thing that I have ridden like this bike is my work Trek 6000, which comes much nicer than this bike.

Bike Setup:   Factory set up was ok, but as most riders are tweak geeks by nature, there leaves alot of room for the owner to set this ride up to their specs. It was set up with the occasional adult rider in mind.
