For my first bike, I looked to get into the sport without a huge investment up front. I have not been disappointed by the Response Sport. I have been able to keep up with friends out on the trail who have more expensive bikes, without missing a beat. The shimano components perform very smoothly and have required no major adjustments even though they are not Shimano's top of the line. I haven't had any problems with this bike at all. It has always delivered whenever I wanted it to. I would recommend this bike to anyone who wants to get into the sport, without having to take a second mortgage to pay for it. (Weinmann?) | | Bottom Line: | Pound for pound the most bang for your buck. The frame is the same as the Topanga Comp (a $600.00 bike). Its the first nice bike I've ever owned and its great. The more I ride it, the more I like it. Shifting is smooth and effortless, adjustments (the few needed) are easy and its very comfortable to ride. I got the bike for all surface type use and it has handled everything beyond expectations. For a returning non-competition biker, this is a great bike. After this, I will never ride a cheap bike again. The price is in a range that inexperienced riders can get into the sport without needing to upgrade right away. It handles the rocky downhills right up there with some of the more "pricy" bikes. I may eventually upgrade the shocks to a heavier version though. I'm very happy with this bike!! ( the 4.5 on overall is because of the front shocks)I ride to and from work daily with no problems with any components.I recommend this bike to newcomers or to people that started out with a wal-mart bike and need to upgrade to something useable! | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |
