Strengths: This bike is a light and nimble racer. The Jumbo frame size was one of the only bikes on the market I could find to meet my requirements (6'4" 220lbs.). Coda disk brakes and XT/XTR drive train work excelently and are easy to tune and adjust.Weaknesses: Excessive chain slap has caused derailments on fast bouncy decents. I believe it will be fixed with tuning adjustments.Bottom Line: This bike is just what I was looking for: super light, fast excelerator, and a no-nonsense climber. At my weight, every oz. counts uphill. The price was reasonable for what you get...not much more than the '99 Cadd 4. I would highly suggest this bike for anyone looking for a Cross Country/Racing hard tail. It will not disappoint.
Favorite Trail: Raptor Ridge
Duration Product Used: 3 months
Similar Products Used: Trek 8900, Specialized Stump Jumper.
Bike Setup: Added a Coda suspension seat post and replaced XT rapid fire with grip shift...personal preferance. I also have built-up road rims to Coda disk hubs for road training...two bikes in one!!
