Favorite Trail:Sheep Hill if its empty
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $2800.00
Purchased At:team deal
Strengths:Sprinting, sprinting, sprinting. Frame and rear triangle are SUPER STIFF! Well balanced for jumping, it feels like a BMX, never floppy at all, just tight tight riding! Build quality is awesome, flawless welds and alignment all around. The 2001 model has some versatility becasue you can put a front derailleur on it.
Weaknesses:I hate the Fox Vanilla R shock. It's is too poppy and has no practicall revound control. Some poeple dont' mind it, but I'm switching to a 5th Element this season.
Similar Products Used:Intense Tazer, which is aslo a great bike. I used to race a custom built steel hardtaial for the dual, but it compares to neither bike. I'd say that over most surfaces, the Storm actually sprints faster than the hardtail.
Bike Setup:Stratos m5, Hope hubs and brakes, AC cranks with MRP, NOKIAN GAZZAS!!!
Bottom Line:Fast bike. As easy to control as the Intense (posibly better in the air) but sprints alot faster. Suspension isn't as plush as the Intense, though.
If you had lot's of cash, I'd actually go for the Intense. The other reviewer here seems to like his Corner Worker better, but I really like my Intense!
5 chilis anyways, because this bike is a far better value and is just as fast.

Date Reviewed: February 13, 2002
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $3400.00
Strengths:Build quality
Maneuverability
Jumping ability
PEDALS FASTER THAN ANY DS BIKE
If you dont win the race its your fault and yours alone
Weaknesses:Not many dealers

Similar Products Used:Azonic Evolution (owned), Intense Tazer (owned and raced), Foes FS Zig Zag (demoed), Kona DuDu (demoed)
Bike Setup:Manitou Xvert, King headset, MRP, Race Face crankset, XT, Hayes brakes and hubs, Sun rims, Azonic bar and stem, Fizik seat
Bottom Line:The only other bike that corners as good as this is the Intense, but it isnt as good a jumper as the Storm. The Storm is also very adjustable, so its good for all types of courses. Im taking this one to Sea Otter and leaving the Intense at home.
