Favorite Trail:That one at Plattekill...
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Purchased At:Turner Direct
Strengths:ride quality, quality of build, service, serviceability, color selection, did I say ride quality yet?, integrated guide (probably the most underated aspect of this bike - but it allows for a perfect drivetrain set-up, and I think that's a big deal)
Weaknesses:Price?? No way! You definitely get what you pay for with this bike...its not just hype.
Similar Products Used:'00 M1, '00 Giant Team DH, '01 GT DHi
Bike Setup:Monster T, King headset, Race Face cockpit, Race Face/XTR drivetrain, Thomson post, Time pedals, Hayes purples, 521's on Hadley Hubs, Karve saddle
Bottom Line:Demo'ed last season. Purchased 3/30, 2001 and waiting for delivery (currently in paint process). Top quality and top service from the New King! I talked with Dave for about 45 minutes, about this bike on the phone, and that kind of attention meant a lot to me. After a few jokes (ask him about the Mystery Spot) and some questions, I knew that this was the kind of company I wanted to deal with, as should everyone.

Its this kind of attention to detail and rider input that make this the best DH bike on the planet.

During the short time that I demo'ed one, I instantly noticed the difference in performance from my current rig (Giant DH). Nice ramp up of shock progression allows you to run full sag (with a fairly light spring) and still not bottom out harshly. I like to sprint, and this bike can do that too - don't let anyone pull the weight s@$t with you. I'm not the strongest jumper, and this bike increased my confidence 10x in 30 minutes. With the shock mount the way it is, I expect to see a 3" stroke shock on this bike soon taking it to 9" - oh, the possibilities... Gravity is your friend when you have a TURNER.

My build should weigh 48lbs complete - not a feather, but not a pig. More complete review after May Plattekill...

Favorite Trail:Bogie Man / Empress
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $2300.00
Strengths:This is a Turner, speaks for itself. Strengths: low center of gravity, over built frame, greasable bearings, pedals and corners extremely well.
Weaknesses:None
Similar Products Used:Intense M1SL, Karpiel Disco and Arm, GTi, Tomac 204
Bike Setup:DH3, Hayes DH, Azonic BB and cranks, Azonic controls, Azonic A-frame pedals, SUN MODO wheels, MR. Dirt Guizmo, SRAM 9.0SL rear derailer and SRAM 9.0 Shorty 8 speed
Bottom Line:This is a sweet ride with minimal adjustments, which means you will be riding not seting up. This bike is easy to keep, greasable needle bearing, SOOOO SMOOOTH. The frame is very over built heavy but for DH not a problem harder to break. Like all the Turners, NOTHING BUT THE BEST!

Strengths:strong build, plush, easy to corner and control. Low centre of gravity and standover height.
the finish and is just beautiful. I like those grease ports which prolong bearing life.
Weaknesses:sometimes the crank will hit the rock because of the low bb.
The bike is heavy to pedal.

Favorite Trail:RHEOLA WALES/WENDOVER BUCKS
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:THIS FRAME IS THE NEXT PROGRESSIONAL STEP FOR DOWNHILL TECHNOLOGY, THE NEEDLE BEARING REAR END OF THE CYCLE PROVIDES A VERY STIFF FEEL TO THE REAR END OF THE BICYCLE
ITS LOW CENTRE OF GRAVITY GIVES A VERY POSITIVE AND STABLE
FEEL TO THE CYCLE. THE MAIN FEATURE THAT I MOST LIKE ABOUT
THE BIKE IS THAT IS PEDALS LIKE A DREAM. EVEN ON UK SOUTHERN COURSES WHERE IT IS TWO MINS OF PEDALLING YOUR LUNGS OUT TRACKS AND CORNERS LIKE ITS ON RAILS ONE AWSOME
PIECE OF KIT
Weaknesses:BOLT THRU REAR END LATER ON WOULD BE GOOD
Similar Products Used:KONA PRIMO DH, (WEIGHS A TON) GIANT ATX ONE, ORANGE PATRIOT LT, TURNER AFTERBURNER DH AND GT LOBO

Favorite Trail:Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:David Turner knows mnt. bikes, just give him a call and find out for yourself. The frame is unbelievably strong and stiff. The bottom bracket/rear suspension connection area is machined out of a solid 10 lb block of aluminum. It is the stiffest bottom bracket I have ever seen - yet not excessively heavy. The double top tubes are welded into this junction area which helps make the b.b. so stiff. The rear suspension rides on all needle bearings with grease zerts so you never have to disassemble to maintenance. How many frames do you know of that offer this? Needle bearings offer so much more side load resistance and are way more durable. Hmm, maybe that's why they're used on MX bike suspension? This bike's center of gravity is really low and this equals great handling traits. It uses the new long travel Fox DH shock. I haven't felt the rear end bottom out yet and I've raced it at P-kill and Mount Snow. The suspension is also active through high speed rough stuff.
Weaknesses:If you're into fiddling with adjustments this bike does not have a lot of them. In my opinion, extra adjustments mean extra drilled holes/cams/sliding parts in the frame and rear suspension and this means more places to develop slop.
No option yet for a thru-axle rear.

Bike Setup:Stratos SS8, Sun/Ringle Tomac DH wheelset, Azonic steering, Azonic crank and pedals and seat/post, Ringle headset, Gazzoloddi 2.6" tires
Bottom Line:I am the most pleased with this frame out of all the above DH frames I've had. I have not had one problem with my Turner. So far this year, I've had the best race results of my life. Give David Turner a call when he begins DH frame production again, you won't be sorry.

Favorite Trail:any steep and deep
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:all. this machine is THE Epitomie of downhill. it can and does take on ANYTHING that is in the way including large children and small trucks. not to mention 20-foot stir step drops.
Weaknesses:the only weekness I have found is that the bike is almost as sexy as my fiencee so needless to say it will cause issure if you have a mate! ;)
Similar Products Used:Turner Afterburner DH, Turner DHR Proto, Yeti straight-6, Intense M-1 (lame bike) GT Lobo DH, suziki RM-250
Bike Setup:White Bros dh-2 with the 8 inch conversion (pim-tooth gold is cooler than the red), Hayes hydro 8", Azonic steering, SRAM drivetrain, SUN/Ringle` MODO's 2.6 Gazz. Jr tires, Azonic 454 cranks (SWEEEETTT!!!) Ringle Slamma jamma H.S., ODI Lock-on's (of course), Azonic Pedals and lounge seat.
Bottom Line:just when you thought you could ride a bike, along came the Judge and re-defigned how a bike is made to be ridden. You can go off anything short of a 5-story building, seriously.
if you want to win, this is the bike to be on. This bike is nothing like the proto I tried, This bike was concieved of in your opponents worst nightmare and brought to life by the beautiful people at Turner Suspention. Call them up and tell them David from Idaho sent you.
this bike just flat devistates anything out there.

Bike Setup:White Bros. DH>3, Mr. Dirt Gizmo, RaceFace cranks, Hayes 8" Discs, Gripshift 9.0SL, DeeMax wheels, Michelin or Maxxis tires
Bottom Line:This thing rails anything thrown infront of it. This is a very sweet ride. With the grease fittings this is a very easy bike to look after, 3 grease fittings, just wash, grease and go. Very very well built and you can tell by the attention to detail: cable routing and mounts for the chain device, that a great deal of time went into making this the sweet ride that it is.

Favorite Trail:Any steep and deep!
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Strengths:I have yet to recieve my personal frame, but the initial test bike is absolutly unbelievable. I am a factory racer for Turner and the prototype downhill racer corners like a GP Superbike. One can drop a 55 degree chute littered with rocks and various sized boulders right into a hairpin corner and you never once loose your line. I was left with a sence of awe. I had to stop and look back sometines to see that I actually rode down or off certain things. I will submit a more thorough review once I have ridden my personal frame more. I should have it running in about 3 weeks. Feel free to e-mail me for more 411 on it.
