Strengths:    i bought this bike in 1997 (9 yrs ago!)and i have ridin it like i'd stolen it everytime i've gone out. i have done some of the national dh races in the uk and also some of the smaller series as well. this bike has had some incredible hammer over the years and other then the shock leaking in the first 2 months when i got it (replaced on warrenty) it has never let me down (touch wood). it is awesome to ride hardly ever needs servicing. it handles superbly, rides flat without too much bobbing and kicks ass over rough knarly terrain

Weaknesses:    the paint just loves to flake off after a crash or bike rack chafeage (hense bike covered in stickers), bolts come loose if not regularly checked and a little heavy but thats all

Bottom Line:
this bike has took some serious hammer over the last 9 years and is showing no signs of ageing. big thumbs up to the boys from sintesi

Strengths:    was my first real downhill bike, i threw everything at, give it some real abuse and the only think thats wrong is that there is some paint missing. not much maintenance required, handles well on the street as well.

Weaknesses:    rear shock died after over 2 years of use, i aint complaining, cant get really big tyres into the rear swing arm.

Bottom Line:
well designed and sturdy bike, bombproof construction.

Strengths:    really plush travel, adjustability, marazocchi rear shock, bombproof and it handles real well. I got mine reall cheap cause it was the last of the old style bazookas and i work in a bike shop

Weaknesses:    weight i know its a downhill bike but if it were a pound or two lighter it would make it a bit more chuckable

Bottom Line:
6 inches of travel is just about right for ireland and it pedals well which is important. The bike is really plush and handels really well all i need is a longer travel front fork. If you get one id recomend a boxxer for the front it matches the back end realy well and the bike feels really balanced with it. Buy one if your looking for a good value bike. If only it were a tad bit lighter

Strengths:    The plushness of the travel and absoutly bombproof. I handles well in al conditions, especially needed over here in England

Weaknesses:    The bolts on the linkage tend to come loose if not looked after

Bottom Line:
This bike should be bought ny anyone who wants to ride DH fast. It may take a bit to get upto speed, but once op to speed it goes like a rocket over anything that you throw at it. The linkage has a tendacy to come loose if you don't use locktite but is it so plush, its unbeliveable. Rocks, roots, drops, can be taken at speen with absolute confidce that the bike will come through. It will make your riding smoother and faster and will win you races if you set it up right, just look at how long the design has been around and been proved around the world.

Strengths:    Good feelig bike and good angles all over

Weaknesses:    Seriously. The last reviews i read said these bikes were bomb proof. Yeah right. I have four freinds who have craked the 98 mdl swing arm Same place every timeafter about five months. Cracked at weld on block in middle of swing arm, behind rear tyre on right hand side. They got 99 mdl swing arm under warranty. One frind and my 99 mdl swing arm has snapped clean through at the new machined dropouts on left hand side after four moinths. I got another warranty. Yippee. I have also Broken leverage rocker clean through. Also warranty. Yippee.

Bottom Line:
Requires alot of maintenance. Wait for the 2000 mdl

Strengths:    Very strong, Exelent Plush travel, Looks amazing

Weaknesses:    Bolts for rear swingarm can break with heavy use

Bottom Line:
I have raced a full season on this bike and it did not need striping down once. The travel is exelent and set up can be very preceise with betewn 4-6inches. the shock can also nearly be locked out whick is good when you are down at your jumps. The only slight problem would be the bolts can wear but I have had some stronger ones made and have had no more probs. This is also quite keep for a full on downhill bike. More people should have them.

Strengths:
Bombproof Frame
Italian Styling
Distinctive Frame
Super Plush/Active Suspension
No/little pedal induced bob

Weaknesses:
Slightly on the heavy side

Bottom Line:
Absolute top quality downhill machine. Better suited to the fast courses than tight and technical. I've owned the frame for a year now and wouldn't consider buying anything else. The action of the rear suspension is fantastic when matched with a quality fork at the front. The marzocchi shock is one of the most reliable out there. The rear suspension can be tuned, altering head angle, progressiveness and bottom bracket height. Marvellous!!!
