Strengths:    First of all DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEW BELOW! It was probably some 14 year old kid who thinks it's cool to bash bikes he could never afford. Anyways, for my review now.....Bike handles very well and you can drop off of just about anything. The bike is GREEN!

Weaknesses:    Rear swing arm is a little unstable, but hasn't broken yet!

Bottom Line:
This bike was broken when I purchased it, I purchased it for a steal though! The weld near the pivot at the bottom of the frame was completely separated. I took it to a machine shop and with a little time and effort it was as good as new. The bike is very smooth and plush off of the bigger drops. It feels like a tank! Very good bike!

Strengths:    nothin much has 9" of travel wow.

Weaknesses:    lets see the rear swing arm is justed boxed alu, if you hold the rear tire and move it side to side it "flexes" about 2.5" side to side! how week is that! POS is what I say about the RM9. Also I had a 9" fork on it and I'm 6' and that thing was like a Lifted SUV it was sooooo top heavy. not a good bike dont think it is just becasue it has 9" of travel. there are many other DH bike out with 9" of travel that would KILL the RM9.

Bottom Line:
like I said a very week swing arm!

Strengths:    9 inches of bottomless travel
Drop in on anything!!
Great Handling
Not Heavy ( 44 lbs )
Looks Awesome
PEDLAS GREAT!! ( Same as Karpiel or M1 )

Weaknesses:    Hard to pull up because of the 47" wheelbase
Nothing Else

Bottom Line:
I love this bike!!!! It is a blast to ride, it soaks everything up and it so easy to pedal. It can take huge drops and anything else you want. IF you ever get a chance to buy this bike or test ride one...do it!!

Submitted by Josh a Downhiller from Berkeley CA

Date Reviewed: March 5, 2000

Strengths:    Burly, built to stand up to anything and everything it comes into contact with. Its also HELLA plush.

Weaknesses:    Weight, but its not that unreasonable. Price. Rediculous Cable routing for the rear brake and derailer.

Bottom Line:
BUY this Bike, ditch the Monster T, Get a 2k Xvert Carbon and hit the trails, and support the Berkeley High MTB Racing team.
