Strengths:    bike still in 1 piece

Weaknesses:    pretty much everything but the tires. I had to put 400 dollars into makin this thing ride worthy. I only put that much in because the parts are compatible with my cannondale. Weighs a ton and the chain is always stuck

Bottom Line:
This bike is terrible. It weighs 50 pounds and steers like a drag racer. The shocks are as effective as a pogo stick. Come on, just buy a real bike from a real bike shop.

Strengths:    Looks... people think it's an expensive bike.

Weaknesses:    heavy and derailers suck...unless you like 3 speed bikes. the front and rear shocks have about 1/2 an inch of travel - if that.

Bottom Line:
This bike got me back and forth to school (about 4 mi. each way) for 3 years, but when I took it to the hills it performed like a 500 lb. sack of crap. it was heavy and the gears didn't shift properly which stole my momentum for the up-hill climb. the components are shimano - suprisingly they didn't act like it.
Good bike for beginners and pretentious wannabes

Strengths:    The Water Bottle that came with it.

Weaknesses:    Weaker than bubble wrap, frame is ugly and weak, none of the components worked correctly, have to manhandle it just to get it to steer. Can't get a good feel for the crank, blew out the rear shock on the first ride, it' a leadsled. To summarize it all, everything. When the water bottle holder broke when putting the water bottle in, it was a bad omen.

Bottom Line:
This bike is a disgrace to all kinds of bikes. I would rather bring a Carbon Fiber Road Bike to my local trail, and it would probably beat the living daylights out of this poor excuse for a mtn bike, heck, I would rather bring a big wheel on a trail sooner than a Pacific. Pacific is evil, evil I tell you! I would rather ride a recumbant than to ride another Pacific.

Strengths:    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA hoh hehe!! Are you joking!

Pleasing to the eyes of impresionable garbage men!!

Weaknesses:    Doesn't fit garbage cans!

Bottom Line:
This bike should be burned! If one evens considers this riding the crap the should be duck taped to the bike and thrown into a river. This is a pitiful excuse for any cyclist. If U are buying it for a relative, don't or u will never see them again as they will certainly kill themselves on the first ride. Good bike for an enemy. Send one to Osama Bin Laden!

Strengths:    Inexpensive beginner bike, a good bike if you want to see if you are going to like the sport. However, this is not a $4000 downhill rig as some of you morons on here might think. The frame is good frame to collect quality parts on for a real bike as you develop a love for the sport as it uses standard mounting (like a real derailer hanger and threaded bottom bracket) for good components unlike similarly priced bikes.

Weaknesses:    Components as a whole-but look at the price tag. A good zokie fork costs twice as much than the whole friggin bike.

Bottom Line:
Excellent bike for phat tire sidewalk pounding. Would probably last forever if kept outta the dirt. Decent beginner FS XC bike for the money but don't expect it to last forever (Look morons this is America. Ya get what you pay for) Don't expect to do drops off of your house and it survive.....that's not what its made for. If thats your thing go buy a Freeride rig. I don't think you will swing one of those for under $300 being as a zokie shiver front fork starts at about $1295
I give this bike 5 flaming dead horses across the board just because of all the people comparing VW's to Rolls Royces on here................... Get a grip!!!!!!!!

Strengths:    it has two wheels with tires, capable of being moved, aluminum frame can be recycled.

Weaknesses:    deceives purchaser with promises of performance and happiness, basically satan of the bike world.

Bottom Line:
after commiting the sin of purchase i've been in the lowest reaches of hell of mtn. biking. any who read this please learn from my torture. this "bike" (satan) will only lead you away from the true path of happiness, which all americans know is spending mass amounts of cash at the altar of choice, otherwise known as your hobby. GO BIG OR STAY HOME, the battle cry of the wise. Oh yeah, don't waste your cash on this thing, go to a bike shop and spend some cash and enjoy something real.

Strengths:    Looks!

Weaknesses:    Everything!

Bottom Line:
My Aunt bought this bike on sale because she was afraid to consult with me about buying a new bike. I own a few Specialized FSR's and an Uzzi Sl, so she know that I don't even look at no name brands. I rather recommend a low end name brand bike than the highest end no name brand. Talking about a tongue twister. Anyway, months later she told me about the new bike and she was having problems with it. I went over to check it out and sure enough I was appalled. Not the fact that it was a Pacific, but rather the way the mechanic put the thing together. I am talking about backward wheels (treads), vertical barends, backward/ wrong side gripshifts, brake levers too high, low pressure tires, too long cable housings, and poor shifting. I wanted to go back to the store and kick the mechanic's a**. They ripped her off big time, giving her a discount on cheap bike tools and a Camelbak wanna be hydration system made things worst. The tools they sold her broke and stripped when I used them for a complete over- haul. And the water system leaked like crazy. I wasted a whole day rebuilding the bike. The next day I took it out for a spin and d*mn, it was the worst POS I had ever ridden. The rear shock didn't do anything. The front shock rebounded so quickly after rolling off the curb, I thought it broke on me. After a couple of times around the block, the derailleurs started doing funny things. I just gave up at the end. She will have to live with that POS, not I.
This bike can have some potentials if tuned on the regular basis (after every ride). Recommended if it was put together the right way and you only use it for street riding. Not recommended if you are looking for a long lasting decent performance, quality full suspension.

Strengths:    Well...the price, looks, fun to ride and that's about it.

Weaknesses:    FORKS BOTTOM OUT, too many stickers, and a mean sound out of the crank or rear hub or both.

Bottom Line:
Well, if I turn out to love mountain biking I will move up or drastically tweak this bike...if I hate it I will have found out without sinking too much in to it.

It really is fun to have the thing to ride on the weekends...I mean I'm not a crazy off-roader (in the Land Rover that's another thing) so it will work fine for me.

REAR SHOCK TWEAK: I Opened up the cylinder and added a small amount of synthetic 10/40 which reduced the air volume and boosted the response and gave a better seal of the piston. I also added a large nylon bushing at each end of the coil spring to smooth things out. This was a 100% improvement over the stock setup.
