Favorite Trail:pisgah
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $200.00
Purchased At:Department Store
Strengths:it has both wheels
Weaknesses:frame, fork, wheels, brakes, shifters, derailleurs, tires, seat, cranks, handlebars
Similar Products Used:Specialized Hard Rock
Bike Setup:Next to the dumpster
Bottom Line:Department store bikes are designed to look sweet, break quickly, and then be thrown away so that you'll buy another one. Look past short term savings and invest a little more money in a bike that will actually be worth repairing and upgrading.

Favorite Trail:Any
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:Particular
Strengths:The suspension is decent, allows good speed, The frame is basically indestructable.
Weaknesses:It's a bike tank, weighs a ton.
Similar Products Used:i forget
Bike Setup:basically stock except for new Specialized Evil Twin Slalom specific tires (26 x 2.1(stock was 26x 1.95))
Bottom Line:Great bike, reliable, will take you through anything, from 4 foot deep mud traps, to just a ride in Miami Beach's Ocean Drive. Nice Frame (can actually outlive any of you out there). Excellent bike, it's true, why do people waste 2K+ on a bike ( i hope they hover at least)

Favorite Trail:Brown Mtn.
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:Target
Strengths:Once I got everything adjusted properly, it shifted fine. You are not going to break frame. Brakes are ok.
Weaknesses:Shock makes it a pogo stick if you want to crank hard. It's fair to poor for actual shock absorbtion or jumping. Heavy.
Frame pivot is terrible. Flexes too much. Rims are weak.
Similar Products Used:1st bike
Bike Setup:Stock. Good mechanic kept it alive for extended period of time.
Bottom Line:This was my first off road bicycle of any kind and I had a blast with it. It got me hooked, so for the price, I felt I got a bargain. It took almost weekly trips to the wrench to keep it running. Finally had to junk it as the frame was flexing way too much while cranking hard and causing tire to rub. The "bob" from crummy shock is terrible. With a few quality components from somebody that knows what they are doing, this good be a good bike. I'm ready for something better. For what it is...I guess I got my money's worth.

Strengths:Dont know yet...only that Pacific has a cheapooo website..Alum bike can actually be upgraded with better parts..then take off all pacific stickers and put some K2 so the name makes it woth more. The strenght is the Lifetime warranty on the frame...
Weaknesses:THE NAME.. PACIFIC....besides the parts.. that come with the bike, Fork, Shifters, Cranks....but fork same cuality as...Fuji...
Similar Products Used:Fuji...
Bike Setup:Good setup...but drop the fork and other parts... That seat will give you a Rash..
Bottom Line:Pasific Summit 2 is okay.. for an extra bike..looks nice..I bet if they would Change the name to PC2 and change parts such as Fox Forks or BLACK, Monutue and add better ligh cranks, pedals it would make a nice bike...Hey they still make a better bike than that crappy SwisArmy and Jeep.

Drop the Shimano cheap..stuff and add the Ritchey on top.

Pacific has money to buy out GT,Mongoose,Swhin, .,.I bet they have money to advertise and promote a better bike...it this is their leading bike.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $140.00
Purchased At:Target
Strengths:Easily upgradable, great beginner bike, well worth the money, very comfortable, strong, good components.
Weaknesses:A little on the heavy side (but that only matters when loading and unloading it into a car/truck), basically had to be reassembled after purchase (department store employees = morons), wheels and tires should be upgraded first (but that's expected with any stock low end bike).
Similar Products Used:Mongoose DH, looked at many high end, high priced (GT, Giant, Norco) bikes before purchasing the Summit
Bike Setup:Stock w/ specialized hardrocker front and WTB velociraptor rear tires.
Bottom Line:Awsome bike for the $$$, however, don't expect to take it home and start doing 15 foot drops with it. I ride pretty harsh trails and it's stood up to them so far. Like I said, I did have to take it home and tighten ALL components, but that's because department store employees (such as Target, K-mart, Walmart, etc) are usually high school dropouts or retards, not being paid enough money to do more than pick their noses, with their thumbs up their asses and do a crappy job at what they do (no offense to anyone out there). And I don't blame them, because they're probably not making nearly enough money do give a damn about their job and say that they're proud of their work. My advice: If you want to get into the sport, it's a great bike, but PLEASE learn a bit about bike assembly before buying ANY bike. If you don't know anything about it, find someone who does. Trust me, it helps so much when you can do your own tune ups and fix your own problems!

Weaknesses:Wish I'd read here first. Assembly is poor. Bought it for a child. Bike self destructed in a couple blocks. Took hours to reassemble. Looks like it was just put together for show...

Be sure to check, check, check before letting someone ride it.
Bike Setup:Delivered "professionally assembled". Very disappointed.
Bottom Line:Don't count on Target to assemble it. Check it for yourself to save heart ache (and other pains).

Strengths:Real sexxy looking, full suspension bike for $200.00
Weaknesses:Damn water bottle hits the tire when I sit on the seat, so that came off. The wheel taco when I hit a rock. the front derailer got stuck on the front cogs and twisted over perpendicular to the front cogs. Bike lasted 1 week. I returned it to target to get my money back.
Similar Products Used:pacific vertical XL2, Huffy Concord, Fuji Diamond 1.

Favorite Trail:
Mcdonnald-Dunn Forest, Corvallis
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Strengths:
Strong Frame,
Good Accessories,
Customer Service
Weaknesses:
high over-all weight
Not professionaly assembled.
Bottom Line:For an entrie Level Bike, This was the best bike I could find for less than $400.00. I did have some problems with the tires that came on the bike and with the crank arm, but in my dealings with manufactures (of any product) I have never seen such wonderful customer service. A bike is only as good as the people who stand behind it. Let me assure you, Pacific stood behind the Summit! My rating is based on comparing it to bikes in a similar price range.
