Strengths:This Review is for the 2002 freak 125, but since there is no place to review this bike, i'm putting it here. This is a great frame. Also, the Shimano Alivio isn't bad. tires are okay, for cross country at least. why 2.1's? brakes aren't bad for rim brakes. Realatively light
Weaknesses:The forks sucks. Put a Z1 on. Also, let this message go out to every owner of a bike with an X-fusion shock on it. Take it off your bike right now. I sadly left mine on and the piston snapped while i was riding. well, when it had snapped, it bent the frame along with it. Now I have to replace the shock and the linkage peice in the frame as well. save your self the trouble take that carp x-fusion shock of your innocent frame. Your frame shouldn't have to pay for the crappness of the shock.
Similar Products Used:walmart moutain bikes. bro's corratec raptor.
Bike Setup:stock except for heavy duty tubes, a Z1 wedge, and now a Romic Twin Tube shock.
Bottom Line:This is a great bike escpecially for the price. The frame is the real prize here. The drivetrain is ok(hey, it's all shimano). This awsome Oryx/Rocky Mountain frame is great for climbing as well as downhilling. Aggresive geometry is great. The shock is a plague to the frame. Also, the rims have held up better than I expected. I'
ve hucked 6 footers and they held up. Impressive, especially considering how much the bike was. But who know's, they probably break next ride. This is awsome for downhilling, especially now since I'm hangin a Z1 wedge on the front and a Romic Twin Tube on the rear. Still weighs little enough for epic rides. This bike would receive 5 flamin chillis except for the rear shock.
