Submitted by Crash a Racer from Chico, CA, USA
Date Reviewed: May 6, 2002
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1300.00
Purchased At:Some Norco Rider
Strengths:Bomb proof! You can still ride it cross country and bomb the DH's. Big drops are a breeze at speed. Nobody else around has a Norco.
Weaknesses:Grimeca's are iffy, but they have held up well so far...
Similar Products Used:Karpiel, too heavy; Dare, expensive, weak frame;
Bike Setup:Basically stock except for I have the Alex 32 rims from 2002 and 2002 xt and Race face
Bottom Line:This bike rocks if you don't have tons of money, want an all mountain bike that you can ride cross country on but still bomb the downhills and take drops with out you or the bike breaking. Triple crowns suck, get a 1.5!

Favorite Trail:WoodLot
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Edmonds, Cycle
Strengths:Amazing stability and balance at low speed.
Stop on a dime, all the time, even when it is really wet and muddy! Inspires confidence!
Weaknesses:None discovered yet! Well the QR20 fork is a hassle for my fork mount roof rack.
Similar Products Used:Cannondale Super V
GT I-Drive
Bike Setup:Marzocchi Z1 drop off QR 20
Fox Vanilla R
Hayes hydraulic with 8" rotor in front
XT derailers (F&R)
Bottom Line:yeah baby! If you like drops, are into all the north shore ramps, A-frames, teeter-totters and catwalks, enjoy steep and fast technical downs then this bike will deliver. Spend the extra $$ and upgrade from the Grimeca brakes to Hayes, trust me, it is worth it!

Submitted by Jim a from Corona,CA,USA
Date Reviewed: October 2, 2001
Favorite Trail:Serrano
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $2200.00
Purchased At:Landrys
Strengths:Beefy Frame and plush suspension let this bike handle everything from slow technical to 6 foot drops. Bomber fork is much better than the Psylo on my other bike. Overall component selection is good for the price. Adjustable seat post is nice also.
Weaknesses:Can only be purchased from one dealer in USA. The grimeca disc brakes suck, nearly killed me at mammoth down a steep hill (my vee brakes work better). After inspection I realized the fluid heated up so much that some overflowed onto the disc.
Similar Products Used:K2, Specialized - not enough travel
Bike Setup:see Norco website
Bottom Line:This bike kicks a$$, handles like a dream and can suck up just about anything you throw at it as long as you don't need to stop. Actually the brakes should work fine after I clean them off, but I will not be racing downhill until I put a set of Hayes on.

Warning - This bike can only be purchased at Landrys if you live in the USA. They are back east and had to ship the bike UPS to CA. UPS sucks royally and dragged my bike behind the truck for 3000 miles. The frame was dented on the plastic graphics, both disc rotors were bent, derailer hanger and cable broken. I called Landrys and these guys were top notch especially Patrick Geden. I told him I was going to Mammoth in 2 weeks and needed the parts ASAP. He sent me all the parts 2 day air even before UPS approved the claim. In case I did not get my point across UPS sucks even if they did make good on the claim.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $2200.00
Purchased At:Landrys bikes
Strengths:Takes an ass kicking but still holds up through some hard riding
Weaknesses:Could have a liitle more travel and the wheels(WTB motoraptors)are the worst I have ever used.
I had trouble keeping the chain on through very rough riding
Similar Products Used:Giant AC1
Bottom Line:buy it ,good for the $
Get rid of the motoraptors and get Maxxis
and to solve the chain problem I got an MRP and now the bikes great!
