Strengths: This bike's frame is built strong, if you have a problem with the bike, it shouldn't be the frame. It is light weight and very comfortable. It takes a good amount of abuse. The disc brakes seem to be a good upgrade from last years model..(how well they work, i don't know)Weaknesses: The Zokes kill the bikes rep. , they bottom much more easilythen the RST 381 EL 's. The Gripshift, i just dislike the inconvinience of gripshift.. The rims are probably going to bend quite a bit on your wheels( judging by the 2000 model's rims.) And last, The colour is crap...navy blue !?Bottom Line: Want a good bike for yout money, this isnt the bike for you, because the front suspension is the reason for this bikes failure. Spend another 200-400 $ for a suspension ? No...! If you want a good bike and have a spair suspension, then yes, get it, but try to sell the suspension to bring the price down. All in all, if it could be, i would say get the year 2000 version, a much better ride.

Strengths: Lots of bells and whistles, dual suspension for the first time. Bike weight is reasonable. Like grip-shifting configuration. Front disk brake beats the VWeaknesses: Instibility at higher flat speeds, grip-shifters to large, seat had to be changed fast, very unergo. Extra water storage beyond 1 bottle is close to impossible on the bike.Bottom Line: This bike was sold to me as an entry level bike and I believe it meets that criteria as far as price and quality go. For my 1.5 hr heart-ons, 3 to 4 times a week, the bike is well suitably equipped. With the dual suspension feature, my riding season has been extended with out my usual season ending back pain. At 60% non-competitive off-road time, I found the comfort level high through out the spectrum of my Canadian Shield and praire environment. For the money it's a good value, but it's obviously not a racer.

Strengths: AppearanceWeaknesses: overall ride, crappy components, handle bars would be better wider, poor shocks - like you haven't even got any.Bottom Line: Really disapointed with this bike. If you're an absolute beginner, then this bike would be okay.
On the first ride I went on, the back wheel got so buckled, that it nearly couldn't be ridden. The Zokes front shocks are extremely poor. It's back to the bad old days when your arms absorb all the shock. I paid AUD$1500 for this bike (with upgrades) and I think it was a big mistake. The only good thing I can say about this bike is that it looked good on the brochure.

Strengths: looks sweet and the disc is pretty cool, the tires have decent traction and gear ratio covers all terrian.Weaknesses: weak components. so far the fender, saddle, handle bars,v-brakes,shifters,derailur have broken and the discs rub nonstop.
Bottom Line: this is a good bike if you want somthing that looks cool and has "toys" on it or are starting to ride very easy trails . But the components are cheap so you pay for what you get. Not recomended if you are riding more that 2 hrs a day and/or med trails.
