Strengths: TRAVEL!!!! HAYES!!!! WTB LASERDISK DH RIMS/HUBS!!!! BEEEEFY FRAME!!!!!Weaknesses: cranks and seatpost (not a mojor problem though)Bottom Line: This bike IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER RIDDEN! 7.4-10.7 of plush travel that actually pedals. Add a BOXXER and there is noth that compares.

Strengths: It pedals better than most other long travel bikes. Its adjustable from 7 inches of travel to almost 11 inches. I keep it in 9 inches most of the time and can keep up with my friends on cross country bikes on uphill and destroy them going down. I recently took it to northstar and it held up great and i dont baby my bikes. It came speced with great wheels, fork, frame, rear shock, stem, and bars.Weaknesses: It had some specing compromises like LX front derauler, Deore crankset, and low end WTB head set.Bottom Line: The Bottom line is this bike is worthy of DH races stock at $2400. At that price you can afford to upgrade any parts you want also. The frame had little flex and peddled better than any other DH bike with that travel. It has 3 adjustable positions for travel for 7, 9, and 11 inches of travel and then 3 shock mounts on the frame for adjustable head tube angles. With this much travel its like a Disco Valante that peddles. If you like big drops, jumps, and confidence boosts get this bike.

Strengths: Travel!!!!!!!! Don't tell me you don't need all this travel because I prefer to keep my teeth off the huge drops. If I didn't want the travel I would Pu$$* out like most other riders and buy a hardtail and say I'm good. Jr. T's do a decent job. Nibble and pretty good going up the Shore.Weaknesses: None so far, but I am switching to meatier rims and tiresBottom Line: The Bike rocks, if you want the travel with the option of upgrading the components to make this puppy an all out DH bike, this is it. Switch to a 24" rim and put some nice, Shiver's or Stratus shocks on her and go nuts. The bike feels good and I feel confident on it like I was on old betsy, my VPS. I have found the 7inch rear travel setting to be the best set up...so far.

Similar Products Used: I rode a '98 VPS 2 and it felt like a pig. Not the Marin, quick, light, easy to hop around with andno problem on the drops.
Bike Setup: Pretty much stock but that is still good, some generic components might be getting the toss.

Strengths: jr-t,fox rc,hayes, wtb rims, oh ya all that travel!!! it,s so nice!Weaknesses: click, click, click,as I pedal, thats about my only real complaint, with the exception of a few generic parts that probably won't make it.Bottom Line: Great bike, very confidence inspiring bike, things now seem easy, drops steep stuff, big roots and rocks are my friend.Having all that suspension is great,I don't notice much flex in the rearend, it's all good. When it goes back for a tune I hope they can fix that strange clicking noise! does anyone know if it's a common thing with this bike?

Strengths: The overall bike is strong i have beaten the piss out if it and it still looks brandy new i took one really hard crash in which i broke my collarbone my wrist and my shoulder blade and all i broke on the bike was zip tie. This is a tough bike i ride it dh and street and i still works rightWeaknesses: The stock tires really really suck and the bars arent really that great but i didnt bend then when i crashed and broke all of my bones. It also should have at least a 8 inch rotor for the disc in the front,Bottom Line: This bike kicks major ass But only buy this bike if you want to ride fast. Only buy this bike of your gonna free-ride or dh this bike in no way is for xc if you wnat xc full suspension check out an attack trail or some othre Marin bike. Wouldnt you also like ot knwo why i got the bike for free, thats b/c i work and race for the store where i got it. But now im out of commision b/c i broke my collarbone and other bones it sucks but i cant wait till im healed to rip it up again memeber keep the rubber side down!!!

Strengths: Travel, weight, Price, single pivot designWeaknesses: Rear end Flex, Low end partsBottom Line: This bike is fun to ride. Big drops are now easy. You get a lot of feedback in the lowest ring, but i hardly ever use it anyways(However this increases traction on steep climbs!)
Fun bike, and with the money you save you can upgrade the bad parts. Great bike for weekend warriors and beginner downhillers. Hardcore huckers and serious downhillers should look for something a bit beefier.

Strengths: the bike has sweet travel and control and can save you if your in a mess in the air. cant beat the stock price.Weaknesses: bars and seat post arnt to strong. need a 24 inch rear wheel to get the full 10.7 inches.Bottom Line: this is a sweet bike it can take all the abuse you dish out to it and will save your a$$ in a bad situation and with a 24 inch rear wheel you can get the whole 10.7 inches and its insane.

Strengths: almost everything exceprt the bars and seat post they both are marin house brand and arent that great but the overall ride on this bike is so sweet its unbelieveable i dont even mind that it doesnt come w/ a roller for full dh use but this bike doesnt like to climb w/ the bomber, you would get up the w/ a real pogo stick but if you buy this bike for full xc use your getting robbed its for free-ride and dh use but if you buy for free-ride this is a sick bikeWeaknesses: the seat post and bars need to be changed before the first use htey arent that good and a roller would be a good additionBottom Line: its a sick bike but i will give a better review when i have more saddle time
