Strengths: the frame is really light for a dh bike and it pedals good with the "active traction control" and the paint stays on and doesnt scratch easyWeaknesses: for me it would have to be the swingarm piviot .. and im scaired to go really big on it (20+ ft drops ) cause the frame seems faily flimsy ,, and the derailer hanger is like rubber ive bent it back like 30 times and it hasnt snaped yet
Bottom Line: its a great bike for a great price i bought it frame only for 600$canadian new off some guy from B.C. and its great for racing !

Strengths: light(frame is around 8 pounds),pedels better then any other downhill bike out there, plenty of travel, fully adjustable travel and geometry(7.4-10.1)not .7,frame is cheap, cool colorsWeaknesses: because of weight frame is not very durable(I broke two within the first 7 months)marin helped me with the first one but i got stiffed on the second, derailleur hanger is very soft you can bend it back easy but its still a hassle, single pivot traits;suspension lockout under braking, severe brake chatter, not progressive enough, severe tire rub on seat tube unless you run a 24",Bottom Line: the bottom line on this bike;If you are short on cash and looking for a good value all around semi dowhill frame this is great,it jumps good, pedels great, and is very cheap, the frame still has a few flaws but marin is slowly working them out,the 02' bike has a thru axle and comes with a hadly hub I have yet to ride one yet but somebody I know just bought it,I will probaly race it this year then next season buy a foes(as I will be getting into racing much more),the truth on this bike though(much to marin's dissmay)is that it's just not made for heavy racing and hardcore freeride and wont hold up,im not saying thats its not a good bike but you cant push this frame hard because thats not whats its made for.

Strengths: 9 different shock mounting positions(7.4-10.5" with 24" rear). Stable but fairly quickhandling plus gobbles up the terrain.Weaknesses: Replaceable Derailleur hangers are buttery soft. Fox Vanilla rc might not be the best for single pivot bikes as not the burliest so can get torqued on some travel settings according to a fox rep I spoke to... all this does not detract from an awesome ride for the money.Bottom Line: For the money you can't go wrong...... awesome dh/freeride bike!
