Bottom Line:
the marin d.h frs is a brilliant bike it even done the big drop at westwoods buy it if you can get 1 but try 2 get 1 with a disc mount as they are a bit*h to find. i made the 1 i use because the mount is realy odd as it screws to the frame! fu**in thing took 3 and a half hours to fabricate n e way the bike is solid its been going 4 almost 10 years and still going strong. pedal bob is not a problem-minimal movement of the shock allows it to b ridden on the flat and up hill amazingly well 4 a dh bike

Bottom Line:
i bought this frame back 1n May 1998, but now i have a 1999 frame (but not the one with all that CNC) it took me around one year to break The first one in the rear end in seven different locations and in the front Without entering any kind of competitions, had to work out the entire warranty directly with Marin Europe (nice guys by the way). got a new frame in June 2K, A Team Dh with a front end equal to mine and a rear end already improved (hope it lasts longer). Overall i'm quite pleased with the performance of my frame. a Good way to improve it is to use a bolt on rear hub to make it stiffer.

Strengths:
This frame is exeptionally beefy! I cant believe that for 1100 bux you can get a 9.7" F/S DH frame! This is the best deal for your money by far, from ANY company!
Weaknesses:
NONE SO FAR!
Similar Products Used:
San Andreas
Bike Setup:
X-Vert DC, Hayes Discs, WTB LaserDisk Rims, other nifty crap!
Bottom Line:
This is easily the best frame for your money to hit the biking industry yet! Why cant other companies do this? If you are looking for a great long travel frame, that is adjustable from 6-9.7 inches of vertical rear wheel travel than this is the bike for you! All it takes is a Marin dealer and $1100. The paint scheme on this monster is tight also!

Bottom Line:
I dont usually bother with these type of reviews, mainly because everyone usually always gives what they already own a really good review even if the product isnt any good and slags everthing else off. This is an exception though,I bought this bike as a frame set about a year ago now and am well impressed. Its got a whopping 6.5 inches of travel at the rear and a bomb proof frame that actually works. The frame boasts a single pivot design which means hardly any maintenance= more time downhilling. My only gripe about it is the shockworks shock you get with it, not great but you can always replace it with a Fox or stratos for a much plusher ride.Ok I have said my bit ...... byeP.S I know what you are thinking I bet he works for Marin well you will just have to trust me I dont honest.

THE GUY ABOVE PROBABLY OWNS A FOES AND HAS NEVER RIDDEN A MARIN DH . I ON THE OTHER HAND HAVE RIDDEN ONE AND OWN ONE WITH MONSTER Ts. LET ME TELL YOU ITS PLUSH IT RAILS THE CORNERS AND WITH TIOGA 2.3 TYRES YOU CAN PLOUGH THRU THE ROUGH STUFF. THE OTHER THING IS THIS BIKE HAS A SEAT TUBE SO YOU CAN PUT THE SADDLE BACK UP AND RIDE ON THE ROAD WITHOUT PAIN . THE FRAME ALSO COSTS WAY,WAY, WAAAAAYY LESS THAN SOME WORSE PERFORMING OVERPRICED DH MACHINES...
