Strengths: Light, fast and responsive handlingWeaknesses: Original Noleen rear shock and strut. Strut cracked where it clamps to shock body. Upgraded to Fox Float RL and made the rear end plush but still stiff (compared to my 97 GT LTS TEAM). Noleen front shock stiff but lacks good rebound control, very noisey unless its set up with lower air pressure, then its marshmelloweeBottom Line: great bike for the buck and a whole lot less maintainance compared to my LTS

Strengths: Light weight full suspension. Has made my riding much more enjoyable. A very abled frame that can do alot of everything. Well spec'd out. Good cutomer serviceWeaknesses: Seat post creaked for a while - put loc tite on it and it went away. Rear seat stay/swing arm had to be warrantied after a small crack developed around the shock. The Noleen fork had to be warrantied/recalled and it was replaced on the spot with a Rock Shox Duke. Noleen rear shock leaks slowly. Like I said, K2 was quick to warranty the parts, or was it my LBS? The tolerance on the chain stay is so low that it would be foolish to run a disc brake.Bottom Line: This bike has really made riding fun again. After about 10 miles on my hard tail it would be time to hang it up. Not on this bike - I can ride forever on it. It is well suited for cross country riding/racing. I have the 2001 model and although it is disc brake compatible the rear tolerance level is so low that the rotor most likely would hit it under braking. Not a serious flaw as I am happy with Vs.

Strengths: Lightweight, Stiff rearend, Very ToughWeaknesses: The Noleen rear shock that came with it blows! I went through seals on it about every 6 weeks and had to get it rebuilt by Noleen/K2. Do yourself a huge favor, Call Eddie @ K2 and Upgrade to the Fox Float RL Rear end that they are putting on the 2003's. This is a 2001 that I'm riding. With the new rear end this bike is awesome!Bottom Line: I ride this up and down the National Trail at South Mountain in Phoenix 4-5 times a week, everyone I know is breaking their XC frames, (IE Sugars & Fuels, and just about everything else).. This thing is TOUGH and LIGHT! I love the ride.

Strengths: Spec'd components, geometry, PRICEWeaknesses: headset and stem, waterbottle locationBottom Line: I got this for a song. $1000 New for XT/XTR and EA70 components. You can't even buy the parts online for what the whole bike cost.
It is a nice bike, well designed and well equipped. The only problems I have are the headset (CC Aheadset AL) with it's cheap plastic "grime seal" and the stem. The stem is like 70mm with 30 deg. rise. I am 5'9" and feel that everything in the Medium size should be designed around me. The spec'd stem is too short and too tall for a race-level bike, making the cockpit cramped and me feeling up too high. Easily remedied with a 100mm 0-5deg stem. The waterbottle location is such that you can't use a big bottle without interfering with the rear shock travel. At least they didn't put those stupid under-tube or top-top tube mounts on it. Other than that it is an excellent bike.
My other ride is a Yeti AS-R with 3.7" rear travel and 4" up front. You can definitely tell the difference in the rides. The Razorback feels more like a soft tail race bike than a Full Suspension trail bike. But that is good, because that is what I expected when I bought it.
Very light and stable. I might review it again after a couple races. If you can still get one from Supergo, I would highly recommend it.

Strengths: Extremely responsive. I have only used the lock-outs for any length of time on paved climbs. on the dirt there is no need. spec'ed out like a dream.Weaknesses: The rear shock was confusing at first since it is not quite the same as the original manufacturer set up. The responsiveness was a problem at first because I had a tendecy to oversteer. The 1.9 stock tires are great in the hard stuff but are a little slippery in the sandy trails of mid summerBottom Line: This is the best bike I have ridden other than the Trek fuel 100. THe best complement I received was when I took it to my local shop and the mechanics started to drool over the components. For the money this is the best xc bike out there even if you have to pay full price. If you are looking for a big hit DH bike this is not the one for you.

Bike Setup: I keep the rear shock at my body weight and the rebound as fast as possible. I change the front shock pre-load continuosly while I ride because it is so easy to do.

Strengths: lightweight, rear lockout, component specs.Weaknesses: not a single thing I've found yetBottom Line: For $1500??? Are you kidding me? The component specs alone would cost more than that.
In the flats, this bike kicks ass.
Up the hills, lock it out, this bike kicks ass.
Down the hills, this bike kicks ass.
It's lightweight, right around 24lbs. That's just unreal. But get on the bike and ride your favorite trail---that's where the Razorback Team will shine. Wow. Tight in corners, confident in technical sections. The rear suspension is perfect. Set it up about 30-35lbs less than your body weight...dial in the rebound---and let it fly, because this bike WILL fly.
Definately have to give it up for K2. I love the K2's McPherson strut look. It rules.
You wanna race? It's for you.
You wanna cruise single track? It's for you.
Fireroads? It's for you.
I've owned bikes that retailed in the mid $2k range. But never anything like this. I'll be hanging on to this one for a long long time.
I picked it up for $1500. If you can get one at or around that price--pick it up. If it's more than that, look for this years model.
