Strengths: Light wieght, handle too well, climd like a goat, easy to get out of control on ect.
Weaknesses: none so far
Bottom Line:
This bike is fast,i found myself hitting turns way to hot,the bike handles tremendously well climbs as well as my old hard tail(rest it's soul)I got the bike frame for 0 with a broken chain stay & replaced it and built this bike fom parts off the old hard tail .I have to say for this being my first true duelly xc bike it rivaled my brothers 23.5 lb hard tail on the trail in all aspects cornering climbing this bike is a excellent xc bike that can be raced or do time trial once i get back into shape.
Bike Setup: fox float,MarzzocchiZ2super Fly,thomson seat post,xt crank set,easton e50 bars,Thomsom stem,v brakes Bike Weight 25.5 517 front wheel,bontregar corvair,roll x front,Panaracerxc pro front 8 spd xt rear dereular
Strengths: This is a great bike! I'm no expert, but this bike does everything well. Durable, good suspension travel, excellent brakes, light weight for a full suspension bike in my price range.
Weaknesses: Bottom bracket of rear triangle, as I've read here on other posts. Bracket was cracked before I purchased the bike. Seller called Jamis who replaced bracket with new stronger design. Uncomfortable seat, but I haven't changed it yet, so it must not be that bad.
Bottom Line:
This bike rocks! I'm no expert, but this bike does everything well. It's perfect for anyone looking for a great all-around do-everything mountain bike. There's no lockout on the Fox Float rear shock, but the bike exhibits very little bob when climbing. The hydraulic disc brakes are amazing! They offer incredible stopping power, great feel and minimal effort - especially when compared to the cantilever brakes on my Trek. The MotoRaptor tires seem to work great, but do slip easily on wet logs. But they performed extremely well on some wet (2+ standing water) muddy trails two days ago - much better than I expected. This bike is a great value! Especially if you find one that's had the bottom bracket of the rear triangle replaced under warranty already. Ride on!
Similar Products Used: This is my first FS bike. Stepped up from Trek 930 hardtail. Compared to Santa Cruz Heckler, Giant NRS, Rocky Mountain Element, new Jamis Dakar, and others within my budget.
Bike Setup: Mostly stock, RockShox Psylo 120mm fork, Fox Float rear shock, Shimano Deore XT 4-piston caliper hydraulic disc brakes with 6" disks, WTB MotoRaptor 2.40 tires, Deore LX front derralieur, Deore XT rear derralieur.

Strengths: Good balance, nice components, Shimano drivetrain, great front shock, good looking. Avid mechanical discs are excellent.
Weaknesses: Seatpost (of course). Hard ass saddle. High center of gravity (on the 19").
Bottom Line:
The bike is a great deal. It took me a while to get used to the bike's geometry (upright riding position) and higher center of gravity. The 19" feels a bit short in the top tube (I'm 6'0").
The first thing I did was replace the seatpost. The bracket was completely mashed and nearly broken through, but $20 bucks later that was fixed. I'm very pleased with the drivetrain/suspension/brake systems. The bike has great balance and will take you down large and steep ledges and all you have to do is hold on. The discs stop on a dime with very little skidding and great modulation. Frame is stiff, but not too much so. Despite the high center of gravity, the 175mm cranks feel too low and often hit rocks on the trail. Front wheel kicks up on climbs, but that probably has to do more with my technique.
Bottom Line: Great bike for the price. Probably more bike than most XC slobs need. Not a $2000 bike, but its hard to imagine a better one in the price range.
Bike Setup: Stock, but new seatpost. I expect to replace the riser bar with a flat bar soon to achieve a longer top length and greater front wheel control.

Strengths: The price is right! Performance wasn't happy to let me out of there at $1015 (tax included.) Climbs like a goat and steady as a rock on the techical downhill. Great components.
Weaknesses: Yet another complaint about the seat stay. What a piece of garbage! Third ride out and it snapped after a small hop...weak. Jamis should consider a recall. The paint is crap, you can scratch it to bare metal with a toothbrush.
Bottom Line:
Solid bike for the price, but expect to drop some more cash on upgrades. Great x-country bike for those who like the occasional freeride.

Strengths: Great feel and control, great components for price point, great fork
Weaknesses: Seat post is garbage, bolt broke twice, the fix was to get Thompson Elite. The rear seat stay is a piece of crap. It has broken on me twice already. I went on my first ride of the seaoson yesterday. 2 hours into my 2 and a half hour ride, it snapped for no reason, the bike never left the ground. I was taking it very easy, since it was my first time out since last november. Seems that the rear disc brake applies too much pressure on the seat stay causing it to snap. Definite design flaw, happens to many people. BRakes require way too much maintenance, hopefully going to hydraulics soon. Rims are weak, get Ryno Lites.
Bottom Line:
I love my bike, I have enjoyed many rides with it, but I am getting pissed about the seat stay. I am going to be out for at least 3 weeks, only to get another seat stay that is going to break again, guaranteed. Buying better components to make my bike perform better, but it will be a waste if the seat stay keeps breaking. I am going to keep the bike for another year and see what happens. May hahve to get somehting different. You can get a better bike for the money, one that won't break. Believe me, yours will break too, I wasn't being agressive at all, I was shocked when it was broken the second time. I love the way my bike handles and inspires confidence. It just needs minimal upgrades and a better seat stay. Otherwise, it can be a headache. not looking forward to being without my bike for a number of weeks, in the beginning of the spring. There should be a recall!

Strengths: Looks good, feels good, rides good.
Weaknesses: Just a tad heavy.
Bottom Line:
I dig this bike. It didn't take a huge chunk from my wallet. Great bike for little money. Components are great, feels good climbing and decending.
And for those complaining about not being able to freeride or downhill on the bike...no kidding it isn't a free rider or a downhiller. If you want to freeride, go buy a freeride bike.

Strengths: Component package!, good cornering, springs out of bankings,
Weaknesses: A tad heavy, but I love to climb and come from a Jamis Dakota, that was super sweet, and great value and held up forever. The tires are weak, and the sidewalls wore out, and the traction bit on wet roots and such, I picked up a michelin cheapo and it kicks ass on the stock ones.
Bottom Line:
1300$ I almost feel bad for Jamis and the dealer, what type of margin could they possibly have. My rear derailur cable was too short so that screwed with me a bit for a while, and the Psylo XC is a tad soft for me, I have it set at 110, and I am going to a firm spring, I fly the coop a bit more than I would like, but I think that is a bit pilot, a bit shock and a bit seat/bar set up. I am working on it to change, but damn if I haven't hurt myself too much flying. Great in fast technicals, just plain sturdy, and relatively quick and responsive. It isn't a $4k bike, but I bet its better than some. Should be an advanced rider to pick it up, because it definetly takes work. It is definetly a big bike.
Bike Setup: Stock, with new seat post and seat, and new tires

Strengths: doesn't bob, climbs like a goat, cheap, descends well
Weaknesses: I think they scimped a little on the paint- chips a little easy
Bottom Line:
Like Dave from Dallas, I bought the frame and shock only from Supergo. I am totally amazed at how much more fun it is to ride this frame. The rear suspension lets me climb stuff that I thought was impossible, and it makes decents way more fun. I am able to ride faster than a lot of my friends just because this very efficient rear suspension gives me more control, confidence, and traction. This frame feels like a hardtail except when you hit an obstacle- perfect for XC. This frame has 90mm travel so it could handle DH but I wouldn't recomend it (I don't think the air shock handles violent impacts too well). This bike/frame is perfect for someone who wants a bike that can handle anything you come across. I've got about 1500 miles on this frame so far and I still love it, and I've had no problems. Great all around trail bike. You wont regret buying it.
Weaknesses: air shock (had to get a vanilla r), pyslo xc (i blew out the right fork seal), seat post snapped, rear bushings and pivot bolts both broke, stem is too long, rear rim tacoed on me
Bottom Line:
real cheap for the bike, but alot of problems, if your gonna freeride or go urban w/ this bike, change the seat post, the rims, and get a coil. Its way cool that i can turn this bike into an urban assualt bike, a xc bike, and a dual slalom rig.
Bike Setup: pyslo set at 5", vanilla r, kona dh stem, answer riser bars, hayes disks, platform pedals, new seat post and dh seat, rino lights, kujo dh tires

Strengths: Most Bang for the buck. This bike comes with great components right off the bat.
Weaknesses: SEATPOST!!! i am 5'11 160lbs. and trust me, the seatpost SUCKS!!! it broke on me on the second ride out. These other reviews are telling the truth.
Bottom Line:
Great deal on a bike with great parts. feels a bit sturdier than the fuel 90. i really like the mechanical disc brakes. not as much maintenance as hydros but with real good stopping power. bottom line, can't get a better bike for this price.
Strengths: like hardtail with a$$-saving technology. better than a walmart bike
Weaknesses: only works for a niche market. The yellow swingarm is f'n ugly. Repainted black to match components. The fox shock is ok, but I wish i'd bought the red frame with the bearing pivots and adjustable fox.
Bottom Line:
make sure you have enough air in your shock. don't huck off buildings. looks good, worth the price
Favorite Trail: that fast twisty one with pot growing in the bushes
Duration Product Used: Less than 1 month

$349.00

Strengths: Full suspension, brakes & Levers, gears and crankset. Good front Fork.
Weaknesses: Today, 11/01 the upper tube (aluminum) at the rear disk brake drop out broke! I'm in shock!
Bottom Line:
Dollar for Dollar this bike is a supreme value. Great climbing while in saddle. Good suspension. Brakes are awesome! I've heat blued the rotors and they are still true! I've had this one since April '01 and have put it through some steep climbs and hell descents and my riding is still improving after 6 months. It took some time to get used to the high center of gravity but the ground clearance is awesome compared to my old hardtail. It would be nice to have a lockout on the rear shock, but at this price I'm not really complaining. I've been really happy with this my first full susp bike. I've recommended it to friends and one bought it and he loves it too. I'd think that anyone looking for a Full Susp should start here.

Strengths: Brakes, fork, frame & shock. Good drivetrain for the money. Takes a serious amount of abuse.
Weaknesses: Seatpost, pivot bolt snapped and caused a few cracks in the chainstay (warranty replaced for free), chain slips off the small front ring occasionally
Bottom Line:
I weigh almost 200 lbs and beat this thing like a red-headed step-child. It really does take alot of abuse. Even though it weighs over 30 lbs, I ride up and down the any trail faster than my 24 lb Stumpjumper. I'll definitely pay more attention to the pivot bolts, but other than that, I've got no complaints.
this bike rocks - dollar for dollar cant be beat - like everyone else my seat post broke on day one - called titec direct and they had a new clamp at my door in 3 days great service but poor product - bike shop gave my a thompson seat post for there cost - the rear shock could be a little more plush but what do you want on a $1400.00 bike - this bike climbs like a goat and decends as good as anything else for a lot less money - this bike is not a racer but a very good trail bike - parts are solid and do not need to be upgraded until they wear out - i would recomend this bike to anyone looking for a good dependable all around trail bike - i have had this bike since early in march and held off writing this review until i had at least 1,000 miles on it - well after 1,200 miles no regrets here
Bike Setup: stock - except for thompson elite seat post and bontrager saddle

Strengths: Psylo Fork, components frame
Weaknesses: On the first day I rode it, I slid back in the seat and the bolt on the seatpost broke off, I quickly replaced it with a more heavy duty seat post.
Bottom Line:
This is a great bike, but you might want to get a different seat post.
I've got a 2001 Dakar Comp with Fox float. The eye to eye length measure 6.5" installed. I'd like to replace it with a propedal version. Will a 6.75" version work?
Thanks,
