Favorite Trail:any in nz
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $750.00
Purchased At:bike shop
Strengths:the frame is super strong, value for money, easy to make into full on free rider
Weaknesses:the rear pivot on these bike are rubbish, cracked my first front triangle after 1 year as soon as my new one arrived I had gussets welded on to the rear pivot and made a solid axel for the rear swing arm.
doing the above took any flex out of the bike
Bike Setup:boxxers on the front, fox on the back, running a 26"24"wheel set up
Bottom Line:this bike is a cheap f/s bike to get started,as you break things upgrade,
I now get 7" in the front and 6.5" in the rear

Favorite Trail:if i can walk it, i can bike it.
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:Sum Ming KL
Strengths:Looks good (very important factor) and rides well. Frame is strong and components r decent 4 the price paid. Perfect for 1st timers who want to try the sport and eventually toy with upgrades.
Weaknesses:the stock stuff aren't 2 impressive 4 serious riding and i had upgrades done to obtain the desired feel (see bike setup section).
Similar Products Used:none.
Bike Setup:Haro frame, seatpost, WTB headset, Kenda Klaw tyres and RST22 rear sus. (The stock stuff)
Shimano XT shifters, deraileurs, cogs, chain & rear V-brake.
Avid Sigle Digit 7 brake levers and front V-brake.
Truvativ Stylo crankset and BB.
Easton EA50 stem, Amoeba Scud bar and Yeti Grips.
Fox Vanilla 125RL front sus.and TA19 wheelset.
Bottom Line:Used almost daily on-road (and kerbs, and staircases...) but on weekends, i use it on hilly trail-rides in mostly dense tropical forest trails with packed earth.

Major crashes: 2 endos, both on downhill trails. 1st one was a steep (maybe bout 40/50 degree slope on mud) but slow descend, braked too hard and got me a twisted ankle; second was a fast chicane on earth and leaves and 2 rubber trees in front of me, left me a lacerated left knee and a few other minor cuts. Bike: No damage on both falls.

If u get the setup right (to suit your ride style), u r not gonna regret this buy. The frame is TOUGH! Most of my riding buddies tried and liked my bike although the mod's only pretty moderate. Good for freerides but super on trails.

Remember, stock is decent 4 mucking around, but after up beefing it up, u'll love this bike 4 a pretty long time.

Favorite Trail:Hartshorne Woods
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Well this is the 2nd suppliment as noted after riding this bike from a Downhill to a it's current form. I've re engineered this bike from a Downhill to a Urban Dirt jumping/freerider. This bike is really solid and if you can find one I'd recommend it. It's one of the nicer single pivots and really cheap.
Weaknesses:tAgain I ordered this frame as a frame and shock. the weakness is indeed the RST22 rear shock. I used it as a paperweight but the other main thing is the shock to swingarm flex due to the plastic bushings that mount the shock. If you can find some aluminum ones definately upgrade them!!!
Similar Products Used:X1 and X2
Bike Setup:Manitou X-Vert 4" single crown fork.
Fox Vanilla X 1.5" strok coil shock
Magura Louise hydraulics 160mm
Profile Tenacious D 1.5" riser
CPI crank arms and REal Ti double rings
SRAM 7.0SL 8 speed gearing
Sun Single tracks and Love Shagger tubless 2.35s
SDG Comp saddle and Icon post cut down
Bottom Line:If you are looking for something versatile this is worth a look. Frame for frame the cost per dollar is nice factor. Very tight with my current setup and I love to ride this everywhere and jump everything. I need to replace those stinky plastic shock spacers with metal ones. then I'll ride that off some serious drops again.

Favorite Trail:Killington, VT
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $2000.00
Purchased At:Built by The Cyclery
Strengths:Obviously bought as a frame and shock... Thsi Frame is beautifully engineered and thought out. Beefy rear triangle and large downtube make for a solid ride. Sloping top tube makes the frame feel small and controlable... I built this bike up for freeride and light duty downhilling. A perfect machine at half the costs of the others.
Weaknesses:factory RST22 shock.. no enough stroke and really heavy lb. spring.
Similar Products Used:Haro X1 and X2
Bike Setup:Fox Vanilla R rear coil shock 4.5" rear travel
Stratos MX6 fork 6" travel
Profile 80mm o deg. stem
Profile Tenacios D Riser
Sun Doublewides with Love Shagger 2.3's
Magura Louise Hydos with 6" rotors
Marzocchi QR20 + front hub
FSA Afterburnercrank arms and CPI steel rings
8 spd Sram 7.0 SL rear derailler, XT front der. and 9.0 LE shifter set
SDG Comp saddle
Bottom Line:Beautifully excuted and tired and trued. This thing really takes abuse. This rig built holds up more solidly of 4' drops than the outwardly X2 and X1 Haros...-----------------------------

Favorite Trail:Allaire State Park
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $300.00
Purchased At:Internet
Strengths:Well this is a first installment in the continuing saga of the Haro X0 Freeride frame. I'm builiding this one up for specific 3' and up drop offs and steep DH style descents. The frame iteself has a beautiful fit and finish.. Albeit the rear RST 22 rear shock. This will make a serious competitor...
Weaknesses:As a frame the only thing is the RST 22 rear shock providing 3 1/2 travel.. Not very freeride....
Similar Products Used:Giant AC2, Tomac Buckshot, Cannondale Jekyl
Bike Setup:rear shock: Fox Vanilla X coil 4 1/2 inch travl
drivetrain: Sram 7.0 SL shfters and rear derailleur, XT front derailleur, XT BB, FSA aluminum comp cranks
fork: Chili Gordo 4" double crown fork
wheels/hubs: Velocity Psycho DH wheels, Tioga Team DH tires 2.3
steering: Bontrager crowbar 1.5" rise, Kore H20 DH stem
miscelleneous: SDG comp saddle, Onyx seatpost, DBX platform pedals

Remember this is a customer built bike and not factory setup... Therefore the ratings are high!!!
Bottom Line:***When this bike is finished for the long haul I will further update you on her trail worthineess.. First Freeride bowl ride in 3 weeks at Allaire State Park, south NJ... Keep posted...

Strengths:good bike cause the ability to upgrade it. tough bike frame!!!! the bike has a good feel for the downhills.
Weaknesses:nothing big but the seat is a little unconfortable and the hoo over the front tire becomes loose but i took it off all together the rims aren't that strong and the pedals are plastic which brok a little easy but those aren't really big concerns to me at least
Bike Setup:pyslo race fork, sid back suspension, clipless shimano pedals
Bottom Line:this is an excellent bike in my opinion but it's all how the bike feels to the person.

Favorite Trail:Coon Hollow
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $530.00
Strengths:The bike has strong parts and is a good freeriding bike. The handle bar and seat and seat post are good also. The tires are ok for that price.
Weaknesses:The bike has horrible suspension. The Front fender is cheap and is easy to break and loosen up.
Bike Setup:I have installed new Oury Grips and a THE rear fender. Not that much to put on. Would rather save for a new bike.
Bottom Line:The bike has strong durable parts that can survive freeriding. The Frame and front suspension are heavy. The components are not exactly brand name. I think the parts are good for the most part for the money you pay. If you need good components, full suspension, and want a haro for cheap money, get this bike.

Date Reviewed: January 14, 2002
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:oshman's
Strengths:Frame takes a pounding, I weigh close to 200 lbs and try my damdest to his most bumps. just started riding again so, it's catching some abuse. If you are just starting out this bike won't let you down and you can still pick some up at least around here for an even better price than i paid.
Weaknesses:Fork turns mushy, rear tire exploded not even on a trail. Component group could be upgraded.
Bike Setup:The fork was replaced within a month with a Manitou Mars.
The drive train is now all Deore (cassette xt), now nine speed.
Wheels where replaced with Sun Mammoth rims.
Brakes are now XT.
Hubs Deore
Bottom Line:Love this bike in particular the frame, although a bit heavy it's bullet proof. Have given it pretty regular beatings and it responds well. Not many more upgrades planned for the near future, but plan on building on this frame for quite some time.

Favorite Trail:anything that is fast rough and lets you catch some air
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $670.00
Purchased At:spokeskis
Strengths:the frame is bullit proof and relitivly light. the swing arm is nice and beefy if you don't mind the extra weigth. bearing pivots are nice and smooth.
Weaknesses:the stock fork was crap.the drive train is fine if you ride x-country but for free riding you'll want a derailler with a stronger spring and i put a bullet brothers tensioner on because the derailler hanger/dropout broke twice, the tensioner stoped that. the wheel sets work but are not as sturdy as i would like, they will be changed as soon as i have enough money for disc brakes.
Similar Products Used:haro extreme x1
Bike Setup:stock except for an rst 381 tl fork, deore derailler, shimano stx rc front brake, and a bullet brothers chain tensioner.
Bottom Line:this is a sweet frame which you can upgrade forever. it works stock but if your up to 4'+ drops and bmx style jumps you will want to add the tensioner because the chain slap will rip the derailler off the hanger. also if your into freeriding upgrade to disc brakes. for the price you will be hard pressed to find a frame up the same amout of abuse this bike can handle. this bike is aimed toward the people who want to freeride but don't have much cash.

Strengths:A super stong frame, cheap for the bike, holds up just as good as a trek. I was surprised, the back shock is pretty good.
Weaknesses:The first thing i would do i get metal pedals. mozos are ok, but i broke mine ramping of a pile of dirt in the mts. not to crazy bout derrilleurs
Similar Products Used:A 95 Trek 7000
Bike Setup:Power tool bar ends, cat eye computer, kore stem, 2 walled rims, manitou shocks, soon geting psylos, are all new xt parts
Bottom Line:BUY THE BIKE!!!!! STRONG AS HELL FRAME perfect for anyone

Strengths:Wow, what a frame!! Good looking and strong! One of the best frames I've ever rode. Great looking! One of the best designs this year! It combinates functionality and design.
The Parts are cheap in pricing, but absolutly great in this combination.
The RST Back Fork does a really great job...
Weaknesses:Nothing yet, instead of the Front Fork. The RST Mozo ML30 ist a bit weak. It makes a good job, no question, but after 2months it feels a bit "spongy"...
Similar Products Used:Giant Warp DS, Pirate, Bulls 7005.
Bike Setup:Haro stock-setup
Bottom Line:It's one of the best bikes I ever rode. The back-fork makes a great job. It strong/hard enough for hard uphills and absolutly great for rough and fast downhills!!
The frame is IMHO the best looking frame this year and faboulous for extrem upradings.
The only (not really) weak part is the front fork. In my opinion it's a bit weak and the arms feels like pudding after 4hours of riding.
After all it's a great bike for everyone who wants to ride on every trail outside he can ride.
