Strengths:    it has a pretty strong frame and it has nice shocks even though it can get a little bouncey some times, but that happens some times when you are rideing the trails.

Weaknesses:    it does soak up a lot of your energy when you are riding up hills, and the shocks bounce you when you are jumping or dropping of an incline more that 5 feet.

Bottom Line:
The bottem line is that this bike is an overall good bike for people that are a little better that beginners and also good for people just breaking into intermedate. But this bike is one of the best so far and i am planning to get a sugar 3 up to a sugar 4 plus.

Duration Product Used:   2 Years

Price Paid:    $550.00

Purchased At:   scott's cyclery

Similar Products Used:   i have tryed all the gary fisher joshua models and some are alike to the this one but then agian some are pretty different. Most are different becasue of where you are soposed to distribute the wait on the bike, also the shocks act differently.

Bike Setup:   it has pretty nice shocks. the shocks that come with the bike are rock shock jets. you could up grade the shocks to air pressured shocks or other rock shocks.the frame is nice and secure and the deraler is pretty nice made by shimano and you could also get those up graded.

Strengths:    VERY COMFORTABLE, fast, and very affordable

Weaknesses:    the pedal bobbing due to no rear shock dampner

Bottom Line:
this bike is one of the best that i have ridden, i used to have a hard tail but when i first got my JOSHUA and rode it for a while ill never go back from now on im hooked on full suspension and will keep getting them from now on. this isnt the bike for the timid once in a while rider, or the rider who doesnt want to pay much for parts and doesnt want to do maintenance by themselves, but if you are a person who loves to ride and wants a challenge its the bike to get.

Strengths:    Price. Full suspension.

Weaknesses:    Front fork sucks. Bottoms on anything. Deore mechanical disk rotor rubs on the fork untill it wears out.

Bottom Line:
Very good bike. Wish I was riding it right now but it is freezing cold. It has a very cheap fork that will soon be upgraded. The rear shock is ok. This bike can climb just about anything in first gear. You can power up hills most people only get half way up. If you want a low price high performance bike this is the best one.

Strengths:    purchase price for a fsb and out of the box performance.

Weaknesses:    front shock sucks, really sucks, can't take anything remotely solid, upgrade quick. components are lower end but worthwhile, rear shock (coil) works but wanna see what else is worthy due to the 'bounceyness' of the back shock, uphills kinda suck

Bottom Line:
I'm new to the sport and have seen the top end bikes, this bike rocks for the price, you have a solid mid-weight bike with low range components, this bike will run the course without a problem but for the price is very much worthy of a couple of easy upgrades to have a very well priced mountain worthy bike. . a very good bike for anyone wanting to really experience biking with a quality bike, a very very good starter for the price and bike considering its a fsb.

Strengths:    Great Strength.. Weight ....

Weaknesses:    Soft front end.... Squirrely in the Air.... Tires are junk dont grip well on berms and corners....

Bottom Line:
Great beginner bike my first one... but if you ride consistently you outgrow it fast ... start envying the hard tails an dother bikes. Alll and all it has done its job but I am upgrading to a Trek Fuel 80 or 90 in the off season. Needs a stiffer front end and wider tires the stock 1.95 doesnt cut it recommend a 2.05

Strengths:    Affordable price for peformance ratio
Striking design
Mid-weight bike

Weaknesses:    Weak spokes on rear OEM wheelset
Rear wheelset quickly went out of true after just a couple of easy trail rides

Bottom Line:
The 2001 Joshua seems to be a good overall value bike
Next FSP bike upgrade option from Gary Fisher would already take you to the Sugar 1-4 series which gets you to >$1,000 price range category

Strengths:    the shocks are very plush, although the front shock bottoms out on anything big. I have had no problems with the bike yet. Very fun to ride and gets a lot of looks.

Weaknesses:    Weight and some lower end componets

Bottom Line:
A good bike for not a lot of money. Easy to upgrade to rear disc brakes and rides great out of the box.
