Submitted by Greg Austin a Cross Country Rider from Marion, VA, USA
Date Reviewed: September 7, 2000
Favorite Trail:Hungry Mother,
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $860.00
Purchased At:Deans Bikes, Marion VA
Strengths:Name brand front and rear suspension, brakes, transmission, wheels, tires, and post
Weaknesses:Rear suspension bounces when pedaling fast if damping not adjusted properly
Bike Setup:Stiffend the front and rear suspension after about a month.
Was too soft after I was able to push the bike a little harder into turns.
Bottom Line:First bike but rides well
Tested up to 45 mph on smooth winding downhill and
30 mph down a narrow trail through the woods - was smooth and stable in both cases. Easy to balance on slow steep hill climbs on shale or loose dirt and gravel. Tires grip well in mud. Brakes got through a near miss with pedestrians when rounding a down hill blind corner at +20 mph.

Submitted by Gavin Mortlock a Weekend Warrior from Tauranga, New Zealand
Date Reviewed: July 30, 2000
Favorite Trail:Wherever the wheels take me !
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:The price. Great looking bike with good componetry for an entry level machine.
Weaknesses:Haven't found any as yet. Rear shock could probably do with an upgrade. A bit on the heavy side, but this doesn't hinder the bikes overall performance.Too attractive to my son who now wants to ride it all the time, leaving me to flounder on his hardtail !
Similar Products Used:None - first full suspension bike
Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:Searched for about three months before buying this bike, and for my weekend warrior style of riding this is THE MACHINE. Trialled various alternatives (GT, Kona, Specialized, Norco) prior to purchasing my Fuji, but the value/componetry/performance combination this bike offered couldn't be matched. A recommended entry level full suspension.

Submitted by frank a Weekend Warrior from los banos, calif. usa
Date Reviewed: July 28, 2000
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:good component mix - plush fork for a cheapie - like the option to install disc brakes
Weaknesses:Its a bit heavy but what do you expect for the price. Bottom bracket came loose after first ride. No real adjustment for rear shock.
Similar Products Used:none first full suspension bike
Bike Setup:stock except for riser bar.
Bottom Line:The bike is great haven't really had a chance to do any serious riding but what I have done is good. Only change I would do is put on a fork with at least 4 inches of travel to balance it out. Possible switch to gripshift type shifters and upgrade the brakes.
