Strengths: Light weight for the $$$, shocks/forks are great. Frame is a work of art.Weaknesses: overall durability and $!#%@$*$! cable routing!!!!!!!!!Bottom Line: The frame is awsome. Strong and light with big strong berrings. Great welds. Very nice XC bike. The black paint and stealth decals make it look too much like a cops bike but oh well. When you set up the right amount of air and sag, the suspension really soaks up the rocks and tree roots. Deal with the minimal bob and let the suspension do its thing. The bike is light and nimble and loves to be ridden hard. My peeves are as follows: Broke nearly every frapping spoke on the drive side. Crank came loose and mangled its splines. Front shock was built by a Monday hangover. Leaked air/oil and had to be rebuilt under warrenty. Rear shock took months for the seals to seat and hold air. Bent the big chain ring with harsh language I guess (Very tender component). The front shifting has been a major pain until my bike shop noodled with the derailuer for 45 min and changes the flexy crank with an XTR. A teflon front shift cable is a must for this bike!
Everyone has a different experience with their bikes but I think its time to give Gary Fisher a try. I will take durrabiity over a few saved pounds any day.
The bike would be 4 chilies W/O the glitches
