Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $400.00
Purchased At:My friends house
Strengths:amzingly strong frame for one of the weaker brodie freedom frames, splined crank set so there cant eb any doubt on that for a first time down hill rider and a FOX VANILLA 7.5 inch back shock(not a weak rock shock)
Weaknesses:I honestly can't say it has a weakness it's alot stronger then any hardtail I've rode but there may be some weakness's but this is my first full suspension bike!

Bottom Line:a very nice bike especially the price i paid for it!

Strengths:This is a review for the 2002 Enduro. The Brodie Enduro is very strong, durable, and is sturdy. Every part of the bike is big and beefy. The Shimano Deore components work beautifully, and the Brodie stem and handlebars work fine. Also, the pedals are sticky and work fine for me. The titec seat is also awesome, it is big enough to give you room to shift around, but not so big as to get in the way. Also, the Z1 Wedge fork works great.
Weaknesses:The only weakness is it comes with Hayes Mechanical Disc Brakes, though this is not much of a weakness. Since they are 8 inch rotors, they are quite powerful, though not quite as good as Avid Disk brakes. Still, they work fine, and I will continue using them untill I can save up enough money to convert to Hayes Hydros.

Bike Setup:Stock except for 2.6 Kenda Kinetics tires.
Bottom Line:This bike is a great deal, even if you do pay the retail price ($1600). I found it on ebay for much cheaper, so I am very happy with this purchase. The bike rides well and inspires a lot of confidence in you. I went out and jumped a 6-stair on my first day, something that I didn't think I would do. Climbing can be a bit hard, but not so much that bothers me. Besides, you'll make up for it on the downhills. Overall, get this bike if you are just starting to get into free riding. The frame is very big, beefy, and durable. As you improve and start going bigger, you can upgrade the components. If you can get your hands on a Brodie enduro, buy it!

Date Reviewed: May 27, 2002
Favorite Trail:sick and nasty sequel
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $1500.00
Purchased At:red shred's bike and board shed
Strengths:Good for the heavier riders, the bomber Z-5 suits this bike perfectly, the frame is extremely strong and u don't have to worry about anything when going of 7ft drops.
Weaknesses:I had to replace the cranks. The seat post wouldn't hold the seat after a while so i replaced that and the seat collapsed so i replaced that. The hayes hmx-mechanical or horrible, i haven't replaced them yet but it would defineately be a good investment to replace them in the shop before you take the bike home.
Similar Products Used:gt-sugar, norco buzz, brodie thumper
Bike Setup:I have quite a bit of the bike stock but i've changed the rims to sun-rim double track and i threw on some maxxis mobster 2.7 inch tires, i got rid of the seat and put a dh one on and changed the seat post to something a little more beefier. Also the cranks i replaced. I'll also be replacing the front and back brakes to hydraulic.
Bottom Line:The bike is pretty solid, not a bad choice for those who are maybe just starting to get kinda serious. There's defineately a few components which you'll want to have replaced before you take the bike home or you'll be back there quickly.
