from W. Van, BC, Canada Date Reviewed: August 20, 2001 | | Duration Product Used: | Tested or demo'ed only | | Strengths: | Tough bike, great balance and feel. Nice roomy cockpit with large frame. Doesn't bob too much. | | Weaknesses: | Fairly heavy. | | Similar Products Used: | Kona Chute & Stinky Deluxe, Giant AC-2, Cannondale's FS, etc. | | Bike Setup: | 24" rear with 2.7 & 2.6 tires, QR20 up front. | | Bottom Line: | Great balance. As easy to wheelie as my Kona Chute hardtail. Rear suspension very stiff, could be a bit more plush but offers lots of control over steep rocky terrain. Upgrade to 6" front Marzocchi, Mavic 321's would make it near perfect except for the weight. However, weight is not really noticeable until you go back to your hardtail so not that bad. I am seriously considering purchasing this bike/frame. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

CANADA Date Reviewed: April 14, 2000 | | Favorite Trail: | Pontiac, Michigan | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | Geometry,Fox Vanilla R, Frame very nicely built! Wheelset is indestructable, nice components. Feels super stable at speed.... | | Weaknesses: | A bit heavy (34.5 lbs) but its a playbike so it shouldn't matter....bit boby on climbs. | | Similar Products Used: | Pro flex beast......nowhere near as plush.... | | Bike Setup: | Stock, LX&XT, Manitou Xvert,Sun Rhino Lite wheelset, Hayes discs, Maxxis Mofo 2.35 DH tires... | | Bottom Line: | Besides being a headturner everwhere i go, this bike, which is finished in a black scheme (wheels, spokes, fork, frame etc) handles the rough stuff beautifully....stiff swingarm rides on huge bearings....no weak linkages on this bike...simple single pivot design.........Hats off to Paul Brodie for a sweet ride at a very reasonable price!!!!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Wasn't as nice as the Instinct was. Although both felt like you were riding a lazy boy. I thought the price for the 2000 bike is a little to much to have deore and suntour stuff on it. But oh well. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
