Strengths: SOLID frame. crazy sticky brakes, smooth headset, hardy paint, strong seat post. Great for terrorizing the streetz, and ripin it at the parks!
Weaknesses: Rims felt weak, easy to tear seat, weak crank, bars not great, a little on the heavy side, crappy stock petals. I guess being 5'11" and 215lbs doesnt help, when I bought it i was only 150lbs, was a bit heavy then, but I'm use to it now.
Bottom Line:
the bike is a bit heavier than I am use to but then again this is one of the first I have not broken or cracked! I ride street, vert and dirt. This bike is NOT recommended for dirt by far. Perfect for parks and street. 4 pegs allow for expansion of the skillz. I remember the first time I fell on a 17' half pipe, and thought to myself, "there goes that bike." but when I got over to it... no issues- Super Strong. Great for gettin at those rails, wall riding, flatland, and any thing u can put a wheel or peg on while standing still or on the move! Thanks Dave, for an awesome bike (after customizing and tweaking)

Strengths: sturdy chrome molly frame. great gear ratios, easy to accelerate.
Weaknesses: the one piece frame is hevier than most bmx in its class. But to make the bike lighter haro would have to sacrifice its chrome molly frame which would be a huge downfall to the bike.
Bottom Line:
an excellent bike overall. What it lacks in weight it makes up with its uncomparable speed and agility.
Strengths: frame, stem, bars, seat, wheels, hubs, seat is comfortable
Weaknesses: one piece crank seat gets ripped too easily (soft)
Bottom Line:
this 2001 haro 540 air is a solid bike at an extremely good price. it's unbelivablly tough, strongly recommended for beginners and average street park riders. once you get good, you will want to change the sprocket (it come with a thin sprocket as most of bmx, if you are serious about riding bikes, get a 6mm or 8mm sprocket), the crank (it come with a one piece, get a three piece), back wheel (i prefer doulbe wall in the front and triple wall in the back-light but strong).once you upgrade these things, it will be an amazing bike. the frame has THE BEST geometry out there for people under 6 feet.
Bike Setup: 2004 animal sprocket,415 chain, all other parts orginal, shortened handlebar, took off brakes and gyro

Strengths: This is a solid bike and the absalute perfect bike for begginers.
Weaknesses: 1 piece crank, sucky pedals, i personally dont like the handlebars
Bottom Line:
An extremely nice bike and very durable. The main weakness is the 1 piece crank, thankfully the 2002 model has a 3 piece. Many think its heavy and you may feel the same if your a newbie, but this is about average weight for a good bmx bike. Its affordable and highly recomended. like i said ive used the 01, 02, 03, and a lil of the 00 model, and i feel that the 02 is by far the best so if you can id go with that one.
Similar Products Used: 2001 540 air 2002 540 air 2003 540 air. ^dont ask but the 2002 model is by far the best

Strengths: Comes with strong Alex rims, 3-piece cranks, tektro U-brakes, 4130 Cromoly frame and Fusion metal peddals. Also has a nice Haro saddle, the cool Putty finish and all surface wheels.
Weaknesses: Seems a little heavy
Bottom Line:
I am a beginner and this bike seems right for me. It has good solid parts (so the guy in the shop said) that wont brake in a hurry (hopefully), it is a little heavy but not the heaviest i have felt. THIS IS FOR THE 2002 MODEL BY THE WAY.
OVERALL, GET IT IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER LOOKING FOR A COOL HOBBY TO STICK WITH.
Strengths: I guess the frame is ok, but it's one of the heavier frames out there. I have the 2002 version, so it came with 3-pc cranks, which are pretty good. The stem is also decent.
Weaknesses: Well, to begin with, the bars bend easily if u try anything big, and the wheels feel like there going to break all the time. The pedals wear down fast, and the pegs are crappy. The bike is heavy as a whole.
Bottom Line:
This is a good beginners bike, but i found that too many of the parts break easily if u ride hard. It is heavy and it doesn't feel very solid without upgraded parts.
Similar Products Used: My friends' bikes, such as a We The People 4 seasons, a MacNeil, and a general lee. These bikes all had upgraded parts, and they all felt much more solid than my Haro.
Bike Setup: the 2002 540 air with s&m beringer bars, dk metal bar ends, primo v-trac grips, primo magnesium sealed petals, kink fat boy chain, FBM bash-guard sprocket, and primo dirt monster tires.

Strengths: I has a super durable frame. It is the only frame that has lasted me 2 years. I ride street and vert with it and it holds up great.
Weaknesses: It's only weakness is a one piece crank. I would get it replace with a Haro Oversized 3-piece. I ordered those form DansComp
Bottom Line:
I you want a good vert/street bike find this model and make sure it is the 2001 model. The 2002 models snap at the head tube.
Similar Products Used: X-games, RL XX, a few GT's, and a free agent, none could keep up with this bike!

Strengths: it has a good frame, fork, bars, axles, and stem
Weaknesses: I had to get a 3-peice 7 monthes after i got it, because it snapped, rims are ok, some times the hubs loosen so when you first notice it tighten them cause it scresup the bearing reeces
Bottom Line:
its ok if u dont do anything real big unless you get a 3 peice. I recomend it to someone just getting into riding
Bike Setup: cut all extra space off my bars, poverty 3 peace crank, broken front brakes, alright back brakes, poverty back hub, 1 powerlite w/3 haro lite pegs
