Favorite Trail:"The Dumps", + "Powers field"
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:T+C Bike Shop
Strengths:B-29 cruiser frame is made very well, rear wishbone is wide but not too wide that when you put Profile's on, the spindle manages to cover alot of area inside the crank. Headtube angle is great and the bike is very fast! Look to do some damage at the track with this one! Stock cranks and brakes leave alot to be desired but you could/should change them. Overall frame quality is excellent! Great bike, cool paint job!
Weaknesses:crappy stock cranks and brakes

Bottom Line:If you can still find one get it!

Date Reviewed: January 13, 2000
Favorite Trail:Stevens Canyon
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Riding the bmx cruiser 24" model with the greatest true temper steel frame which helps this bike hold up in the most harsh times. I am 170lbs and have gone thru bikes like water it seems... but Bontrager has created an awsome solid frame that any rider could handel. Powder baked paint job!!
Weaknesses:One piece cranks need to be replaced as soon as you buy the bike! Rear wheel hub really sucks and if you are someone who rides a lot like myself (avg 40 miles a week) you will bust right thru it... rear break really sucked.. has to replace it with a shimano xt v-brake(gave awsome braking power!)
Similar Products Used:GT, Specialized, Schwinn
Bike Setup:welgo pedels with mongoose spd adapter, brand smacking new redline rear, 18 tooth shimano gog, xt rear v-brake
Bottom Line:Looking for a starter bike... Look to the B1, its a nice bike if you can still find them available. Tuff enough to take what you dish out! Would highly recomend upgrading some of the parts that you would not expect bontrager to place on a bike...(ie: brakes, cranks, low grade rear hub)

Other wise this bike is a steal!!!!
