Strengths:    The bike is super light considering the DH beating it can handle.

Weaknesses:    The rear shock could be a little better. I know Specialized makes a great product, but I feel there could have been a better after-market shock installed.

Bottom Line:
Great XC bike with balls. This is a perfect bike for dudes over 200lbs but want a climber. The weight to DH capability ratio are perfect.

Strengths:    This is my second enduro, the first being a 2000 model, and they just keep getting better. Once I got the suspension and everything adjusted how I like it I was surprised at how well the bike climbs. Even with wide rubber the bike is easy to pedal and considering the slack head angle, it corners really well. I've found that the extra suspension over the old model has given me extra confidence to try bigger drops and to push harder and faster down hill.

I was initially disappointed when I saw the bike to find that it did not have the Specialized fork fitted, but given the feedback I have seen and the issues with these forks, I'm actually relieved to have the Fox suspension fitted.

Weaknesses:    As per everyone else, I have found the rear wheel to be a bit of a let down, but having said that I'm having so much fun riding that I haven't even bothered swapping for something better. I guess the wheels can't be too bad after all.

Whilst I have found the Fox Float forks good overall, in some situations I have wished that I had more rigid forks as the single crown can deflect when going fast through rock gardens. However as this is a bike that climbs as well as it descends, not just a down hill rig, you have to make allowances and some compromise must be made.

Bottom Line:
Brilliant mate! I'm one of those riders who needs a bike that can climb technical trails, trail ride all day and / or handle downhill singletrack at speed. This bike does each of these very well and most importantly leaves me with a smile on my face.

I also don't want to go out and buy a bike and then need to change a whole host of things on it - stock is just fine with me until things wear out and need replacing. Again this bike fits the bill. [I must admit though that I did swap the front tire to a Maxxis following a big getoff with the Specialized tyre]

If you are a rider who gets as much fulfilment out of riding up a difficult trail as bombing a downhill, then I don't think you will find a better ride than the Enduro.

If you are a little more oriented toward the climbing / technical / endurance racing end of the spectrum I would recommend test riding a Stumpy alongside the Enduro before making your mind up. Either way with a Specialized you can't really go wrong.

Duration Product Used:   1 Year

Price Paid:    $3000.00

Purchased At:   Central Coast NSW

Similar Products Used:   Specialized Enduro Comp, Iron Horse Sunday

Bike Setup:   I've set up the suspension for my weight and adjusted the rebound and compression to my liking. I have also found that the ride changes considerably with minor variations in tyre [sorry mate, that's how we spell Tire in Oz]presure.

I've gotten to the point where I'm sick of jacking the seat up and down so I leave it alone now unless the trail is very steep and knarly. This is probably one area where I could be convinced to spend some cash and instal an adjustable seat post.

Strengths:    feels like a bmx bike on the trails. nimble and easy to manuever at any speed. Super plush suspension, this bike makes you a super hero. you push the limits even harder, and use the giant brakes even less.

Weaknesses:    stiffer wheelset. Rear wheel is kinda soft. switched it to a DT swiss and haven't looked back

Bottom Line:
absolutely insane. Specialized totally nailed it with this bike. The ergo's are perfect. The faster you push this bike the more it comes alive. you can drop bigger, climb farther, absolutely a dream to ride. I'm seriously making people nervous on this thing. Passing lycra clad weekend weenies on 3-4" carbon bikes on THE CLIMB!! right now this bike weighs 29lbs, but it doesn't feel like it. when you can eat people on a six inch trail bike, and still have the energy left to go work a ten hour shift, you know its something special. A bunch of people dont like the AFR rear shock, but so far its great. four settings for "pro-pedal" essentially. I have the RP-23 on my race bike and this makes you realize that there are other shocks out there, not just fox. four Flamin' chilis for overall because of the soft wheelset

Strengths:    Great all-around/take anywhere bike. My rig is 31#. It is suitable for climbing and rips it on the descent once you have the suspension dialed in.

Weaknesses:    Bashed the back wheel at Keystone.

Bottom Line:
This is the bike of my dreams. If there is one bike for all the types of riding I do, this one is it. Adjustable front shock from 4-6". One finger braking on the steepest downhills. Search for chrisarellano on Youtube for video of it in action.
