Strengths:    The way it is factory set up right out of the box!

Weaknesses:    What weakness. I have not been able to find any., especially when one considers purchase price to value received.

Bottom Line:
Well here it is, Why you want to hear from me. I am a big guy, 270 lbs. and though I care for my equipment, I use it to the max. I needed something that would handle my style and personality on the trails yet was out of the Hollywood budget range. This Bike fills that lane just fine, thank you. I could start to mention the shifter, de-railers brakes and anything else you could already read about, etc., but I do not believe mentioning all of the things found in the spec sheet will tell you what you would like to know. Ie. How in the world does the bike perform and hold up under field conditions by real people. I'm here to tell ya---GREAT! This bike, lb. for lb. is a "way more bike" than the $1,400.00 I paid for it. Stops on a dime, shifts so effortlessly it becomes second nature in no time at all, takes the uphill and downhill like it knows no difference. Moves with little effort through tight turns and changing conditions while allowing you to feel what is going on with out taxing your strengths to force things to happen. The Phase 1 is a full suspension bike that really should be in a much higher price range ( I am glad it is not). If you are considering the best, I strongly suggest you keep that thought, move down in price, and buy the Raleigh Phase 1. It is difficult to imagine anyone being disappointed in this piece of equipment.

Strengths:    You can't beet the components this thing comes with for the money. If you're out to spend less than 2K and want a top of the line bike, you found it.

Weaknesses:    No "weaknesses" that I've found. I would like a little nicer rear shock.... but the one it comes with will do.

Bottom Line:
Yes, there are bikes out there with higher end components, but Raleigh did a great job balancing the price/quality of this bike. The Hayes hydrolic brakes w/ 7" rotors are no less than wonderful. The OEM Manitou Black w/ IT adjust is a VERY nice shock. The SRAM equipment makes shifting quick and smooth. I've pushed the bike hard from the start and it hasn't so much as creaked. I would reccomend this bike to anyone looking for a great trail or cross county bike.
