The relative benefits of 29" wheels are now well established; most of them coming from the front end of the bike. You'll apperciate the longer contact patch in the corners and loose terrain, and the improved "roll-ability" over obstacles. On the back end, the Fifty-Five's shorter chainstays keep the bike feeling lively & quick while maintaining good tire and front derailleur clearance. Less relative bottom bracket drop affords quicker handling than a full 29"er for a given bottom bracket.
