Strengths: Great components for the price. SRAM 2X10 is awesome. Formula brakes. Dt Swiss Wheels and hubs. Climbs like a goat. Eye candy.Weaknesses: None so farBottom Line: This is my first 29er. I've been reluctant to make the switch from 26 but after riding the Vertex 29se I'm really impressed. The cornering and agility of it feels really no different than my 26fs which Im very impressed with. It accelerates and climbs really well. If you are looking for a ht29er with a component set you don't need to upgrade that is race ready at around $2000 it's a great buy.

Strengths: Stiff frame-excellent finish
Nice components for price point
Weaknesses: Chain suck with stock race face crank-swapped for XT now it's better.Bottom Line: This bike is an excellent value at the $ 2000 -2500 price point.. The frame is very stiff and it climbs great. Components are high level enough that they can be used out of the box. Of particular note are the Stans ZTR355 wheels with Conti Race Kings and the Fox fork with 15mm axle. The Race face crank seems quality, but I put on an XT that I already had. All in all, I'm impressed with this bike and the quality of Rocky Mountain. I knocked off one on the overall rating because of the chain suck issue when new.

Bike Setup: stock except for crank (XT) and Easton carbon bars. My bike is 2010 with 3x9 gearing. 2011 might offer 2x10 (good choice). Weight about 26.5 lb for 19" frame. I'm 6' and 200 lbs
