Strengths:    Geometry, Compliance, Head Angle, Fun Factor, Looks

Weaknesses:    Carbon pedals better on XC trails

Bottom Line:
The Raijin is a raw but tame hardtail for riders of all sorts. It is the kind of frame that allows for a wider variety of riding from long climbs to advanced level descents that might be uncomfortable on a carbon hardtail. The geometry seems to play nicely at all times and the titanium frame, though no substitute for full suspension, rounds off the sharper feedback very nicely. Accordingly it is also a very quiet ride and definitely the most fun I have had on an mountain hardtail.

Kona Raijin/120 Fork?

Was curious as to how many riders have experimented with a 120 on their Raijins? And if so how did you like it/hate it? Was looking at getting one set up as a 1x10 during the winter season.Read More »

Kona Raijin Carbon Fork Choice

Need help on pairing a carbon rigid fork to the Raijin - essentially a titanium trails 29er. My understanding is different frame materials will make the fork feel and behave differently I've been looking at Niner's offerings the QR and RDO QR15, although the RDO price is hard to swallow.
