This is the Jones geometry (and superb handling) as a traditional diamond frame. This, being easier to build, costs less than the Spaceframe version, and while it doesn't offer the same compliance, the seat and seat stay tube dimensions have been carefully selected to both improve ride and reduce the weight. The frame is TIG welded 4130 chromoly with a butted down tube. The cable guides and bottle bosses are brazed on. The fork is all 4130. The frame and fork are ED black and then powdercoated for a durable finish. The Truss and Jones forks all have clearance for 29 X 2.55 and 26 X 3.7” fat tires. Hub spacing is 135mm which allows for a very stiff and strong front wheel.
Strengths: Strong frameset inspires confidence on the roughest of trails. I have a Surly Fat Larry 3.8 up front which eats up the bumps when the trail gets rugged and technical. I have the unicrown fork. The h-bars and the comfortable upright riding position make it easier for me to stay in the saddle for an extended period of time, longer 2-3 hour rides.
Overall fantastic bike. Great for the trails and ALSO for the road. I have an extra wheelset so I can swap out my knobbies for semi-slicks for the pavement.
Forgive me if this has been asked before (and then after forgiving me please point me to the old thread cuz I couldn't find one) are there any custom steel frame builders who make a bike with handling characteristics similar to the Jones? Specifically the Jones diamond and truss combo.
I'm sure ... Read More »
I've been scouring here for ages and seen a few threads alluding to the above set up but not found any pictures or reviews. I couldn't stretch to a full ti set up but I could possibly go for steel diamond with ti truss and wondered how others have got on with this? Still t swing my leg over a jones ... Read More »
I know they're not directly comparable - however, having got a Paradox I am appreciating the slacker ha/short stays in woodsy, rooty singletrack. I am going to keep my O-O ti 29er for longer days/endurance events and have a second bike to cover same riding as paradox.
Paradox is great but riding ... Read More »

Also its been very nicely repainted, so If anyone knows where I might be able to find origional replacement decals for it that would be great!Read More »
