Strengths: great looking, terrific geometry and feel, reasonable priceWeaknesses: delivery time, fork dials don't clear the downtubeBottom Line: I really love the frame and the complete bike and configuration. The ride quality is terrific and the geometry is dialled. The Ox platinum tubes not only feel great but look the part with different tube diameters, and ovalised stays. Unlike the other review I have found the paint excellent - durable attractive, and thick. There are some small negatives like I was expecting an Ox Platinum sticker but there was none, the fork dials don't quite clear the frame, and it would be nice to have just a little more clearance around the seat stays and the tyre. The wait was pretty long, but after reading other reviews I was kind of ready for it and in no hurry luckily. The makers were very dedicated to getting the frame right for me and pleasant to talk to. If you are looking for a high quality Ox platinum frame for a good price look no further. I haven't been able to generate any lust for other bikes now that I have the right bike...except possibly I could try a Dean titanium in the same configuration.

Strengths: Value, quality, versatility. Frame has stiff feeling under power and yet feels lightweight.Weaknesses: Poor paint & decal quality.Bottom Line: This (XL) frame has modular rear dropouts so that is can be run in any combination of geared or single speed, disc or v-brakes. The True Temper OX Platinum steel tubing provides a nice ride quality at a reasonable weight. This is a relatively unknown gem of a frame in the 29'er world! If you are in the market for a versatile 29'er and want something lighter and more refined than the entry-level bikes, you should consider putting the Ionic Steelhead 29r on your short-list.
