Strengths:    Price for ride
Disc breaks are solid
Fast travel

Weaknesses:    Hard seat
Gears sometimes don't catch right when climbing
On the heavier side

Bottom Line:
Great beginner mountain bike for price.
Easily handles Alabama/Georgia single tracks with speed. Very tough bike. 2 years of riding with only 2 annual tune ups and still rolling strong.
Rode fine on all trails in moab and New Mexico except slickrock trails. Unenjoyable ride too much raddle. If you demand perfection out of your bike don't purchase though as something is usually a little bit off, but nothing you can't get past. That's life right?

Talon 29er 1 vs Revel 0 29er - new to biking

Looking to purchase either a Giant Talon 29er 1 or a Giant Revel 0 29er. Between the two of them which do you feel has the better specs, gear, and would likely last over time. I've test drove both and to a complete noob like myself they both seemed very nice bikes. Then again I haven't road a bik ... Read More »
