Strengths:    his is for the 2012 bike - likes to climb, easy to throw on your back when you have to carry, likes going downhill just as much. its steel its strong and its versatile.

Weaknesses:    basic components on the 2012, (the 2013/14 bike are much improved) the sram components x5 were thrown away after the first ride they were bad very bad. stand over height i am 5'9 and the small frame is still a ball cruncher.

Bottom Line:
before i start i got this bike for half price £599.00 or the price of the frame their cock up! - when i went out on this bike for the first time, i was out for 3 hrs in mud (they don't call it the lake district for nowt) i did not go out again for 2 weeks. the time was spent swapping the forks for recon gold tk solo air.the sram shifters and derailleurs were ditched for shimano xt i also put a triple chainring up front - we do 30 to 50mls bike rides and on the flat 20 speed is just to slow - to counter this, seatpost, stem and bars went carbon, gotta love eBay! add a WTB devo saddle and carradice 8lt saddlebag for tools and bivvy bag and a rear mudguard, mine is now 12.5 kg - 27.5 lbs.
it overtakes full sussers on the way up and keeps up with all but the suicidal on the way down, the 30 gears work perfect and i run a 9 speed chain on this because it handles the mud better and it actually shifts better than a 10 speed chain. try it.
i have now used this bike for over a year on XC, AM, green lanes and multi day wild mountain camping trips in the lakes and Scotland it works well I'm happy anyway.
if you like sram by the full bike if not buy the frame. the 2013 bike is much improved but i will not upgrade as i have mine just so,
