Strengths:    Value, great factory specs, FOX shocks, good blend of stable and nimble, glides over the boney stuff

Weaknesses:    A bit heavy compared to comparable bikes (XL frame 33.2 pounds), brakes feel a bit soft, long shifting break-in period (maybe has lower quality cables), feels a bit unbalanced/tail heavy in the air at times.

Bottom Line:
I'm a dedicated intermediate XC rider. I've ridden a Specialized M4 26" hardtail for over a decade and decided to make the leap to full suspension and 27.5. Over the past year or so I've demo'ed and borrowed a few similarly spec'ed bikes... Giant Anthem 26", Trek Remedy, KHS SixFifty.

In my opinion this bike generally outperformed the Giant and the Trek. The KHS felt more nimble, better balanced but flimsy. Overall the Norco climbed as good or better than these bikes, and is a superior bike on the descent. It rails around bank turns and glides over the chain rattling roots and rocky sections of trail better than the others. The FOX shocks are awesome... can't find too many bikes with FOX shocks and XT derailleurs in this price range... A local bike shop was able to cut me an awesome deal.

I have also have borrowed Specialized FSR and Santa Cruz Blur 26". The bike compared well against these more expensive bikes.. but, they are noticeably better bikes. However, for the price point, the Norco is the is clearly the best purchase.

This bike is a solid intermediate performer in an entry level price range.
