Product Description

An open and aggressive tread design gives the High Roller II excellent soil penetration and mud-clearing ability. A square profile provides a solid, consistent feel across the knobs. Modified knobs on the shoulder and center improve braking performance and traction on hard surfaces. An excellent choice for technical, freeride terrain.

Strengths:    Easy tubeless setup, excellent lateral stability at lower pressures (even tubless), fantastic and predictable drift when cornering, great lateral grip as a front tire, exceptional grip when leaning the bike on fast corners, fast rolling for an enduro tire, great ability to regain traction after sliding, strong and predictable braking

Weaknesses:    the chamfered center knobs can slip in high-torque, technical climbing applications (the price you pay for the faster rolling tire); tends to slide laterally on technical, wet climbs

Bottom Line:
I really like this tire. My only gripe is that it slides laterally on technical, wet climbs. Its not really designed for that, so its not much of a gripe. Its ability to rail high speed turns is remarkable, and far greater than my abilities to do the same.

Anyone tried Ardent 2.4 rear and High Roller II 2.3 front? Sb95c

Hey all, I still have the Ardent 2.4 from the OEM build kit that came with my SB95c. I found it and the ikon to be too drifty for my liking so I've swapped them out for Trail Boss rear and Vigilante front. That said, I'm interested in trying out different tires and I'm considering the Ardent 2.4 r ... Read More »

Chunky Monkey vs High Roller II/Minion DHRII

I've been running 2.3 HRII front and rear my new SC 5010 and have really liked them both, especially the front. With all the praise for the DHRII as a rear tire I'm thinking of going HRII 2.4 3C in front and DHR II in back for my bigger bike (Knolly Chilcotin).... 2.4 or 2.3? (I like big volume tire ... Minion DHF or High Roller II?

I'm running a Hans Dampf front/Ardent 2.25 rear and it's great for my local trails. The Ardent doesn't brake quite as well as I want but the trails here are tame enough it doesn't matter enough to be worth dragging a chunkier tire on the climbs. However, if I venture out a little further the trail ... Read More »

High Roller II 2.3 or 2.4??

I'm building up a new 27.5 bike and I'm shopping around for tires. I'll be running Flow EX rims, riding aggressive AM trails....and a few shuttle / DH runs. I have a problem with blowing out sidewalls, so I'm looking for something strong, but not as heavy as a dual ply sidewall. I've been checkin ... Read More »
