An open and aggressive tread design gives the High Roller II excellent soil penetration and mud-clearing ability. A square profile provides a solid, consistent feel across the knobs. Modified knobs on the shoulder and center improve braking performance and traction on hard surfaces. An excellent choice for technical, freeride terrain.
Strengths: Easy tubeless setup, excellent lateral stability at lower pressures (even tubless), fantastic and predictable drift when cornering, great lateral grip as a front tire, exceptional grip when leaning the bike on fast corners, fast rolling for an enduro tire, great ability to regain traction after sliding, strong and predictable braking
Weaknesses: the chamfered center knobs can slip in high-torque, technical climbing applications (the price you pay for the faster rolling tire); tends to slide laterally on technical, wet climbs
I really like this tire. My only gripe is that it slides laterally on technical, wet climbs. Its not really designed for that, so its not much of a gripe. Its ability to rail high speed turns is remarkable, and far greater than my abilities to do the same.
