Velocity P35 27.5 Rims

4.5/5 (2 Reviews)
MSRP : $99.99

Product Description

The arrival of the P35 rim, co-designed by biking veteran Kirk Pacenti, thus the 'P' in the rim name. The '35' part is a reference to its astounding width, which gives any wheel built with it a larger footprint, and so, more traction. Very useful for cross-country and all-mountain riders who are looking for lateral stiffness without so much weight.

    Strengths:    Traction. Improved Cornering. Compliance.

    Weaknesses:    Weight

    Bottom Line:
I've been running these a few months after riding Flow EXs for a few months. They handle better, absorb impacts more and provide better traction for climbing and braking than the Flow's, but they are heavier. I notice the weight most on the steeper climbs.

Strengths:    Makes a 2.2 inch tire feel like a 2.5 without the weight. Maybe my all time favorite rim for tough trail riding.

    Weaknesses:    Not cross country light

    Bottom Line:
A great trail wheel that can handle the double blacks at the bike parks and ask for more.

Can a Jones Diamond rear fit a Conti MKII 2.4 on P35's?

I recently built a Jones diamond with Ardent 2.4's on P35 rims. The Ardents fit great but i didn't like the traction in the rear on slick rooty climbs so I threw a Continental MKII 2.2 on the back since that's what I'd been riding on my previous bike and really liked. The wide P35's gave the 2.2 a ... Read More »

Velocity p35 650b 2.25 racing ralph SC Nickel

Can't seem to find this combo to know if there is side clearance between the stays on a Nickel. P35s really blow the tires up. Experiences anyone? I might just try it and be the first to post if it works! Nickel does have good size stay room.Read More »
