This bike feels great! Easy to bunny hop and as some others have said this thing flys! I am an average size rider at 160lbs. Hook is easy to manipulate in air. For all who are talking about how this bike sucks, please refer to the under $900 price please. It's not a bike the pros use. Lets keep that in mind people. For the price point this bike offers A LOT. 1x drive train to clean up the cockpit, 120mm travel fork(there are quite a bit more than 5 options to choose from with a straight 1 1/8 steer tube), great geo, and that chain guide makes a shitload of sense(I've literally NEVER dropped my chain. EVER.) THIS BIKE IS MEANT TO UPGRADED but still comes with decent spec from the factory. Hook also has a handmade frame, very strong with much more attention to detail.

Weakness:

There aren't many downsides when talking about an entry level bike like this. You can't expect the world, but you get quite a few options that more expensive begginer mtb bikes just don't have. Like the chain guide, 120mm travel fork(usually they're 80 to 100mm travel) 1x drivetrain(even though it's 1x8 it does leave you wanting a few more years but it's not horrible and it works well enough. Did I mention it also clears up the left side of the cockpit to add a dropper! You bet I most certainly did! All in all this bike is fantastic but keep in mind, this bike is meant to upgrade to make your own. Upgrade your bike! If needed down the road, upgrade your frame. You still have your components to just switch over to the new frame!

It looks good The frame geometry is great

Weakness:

Problem after problem after problem! I weight 200lbs and this bike couldn't handle my weight. I'm pretty disappointed. The fork is a trampoline. Brakes don't feel safe. Derailleur is impossible to tune perfectly. The left crank arm started creaking terribly bad after my first ride. Grips interfere with the shifter levers. The saddle feels like you're sitting on a piece of wood, literally. Unless you're an absolute beginner who never rode a bike in your life, I do not recommend it. Save it for a sync'r or get another brand of bike. Oh and I almost forgot! Non tapered steerer tube in 2018?!? There's literally 5 fork on the market that can fit this bike. Not sure what they were thinking.

This bike is great. I have learned everything on this bike and it's an absolute beast for 650$. Anyone that think you can't go fast on this is dead wrong, you can go fast on pretty much any bike with the right skills. This bike is great for bunny hopping. I've seen people fly on this bike and certainly go faster than people with 300$+ full squish bikes. I would for sure buy this bike.

Weakness:

Front sprocket slips chains a lot.

This bike is GREAT I would for sure get it. The people complaint don't know what they are talking about. I've rid a 5000$ dollar bike in the mountains of Colorado, yet I enjoy riding the hook way more, it's a blast

geometry but thats as far as it goes.

Weakness:

non tapered steerer, qr9 dropouts and hubs, extremely poor fork, brakes are horrific, drive train is complete crap.

as for the guy above claiming to be a all mountain rider, then posts a review purchasing a 500 dollar bike?????

uh im going to say hes a troll. his post is complete nonsence. that bike is a scam and very poor one at that.

upgrade all the components listed above and you may just have a basic entry lvl hardtail.

however.... without thruaxle and with a tapered steerer this frame and thus the bike is dead in the water.

whats even worse is it has iscg05 mounts which makes zero sence to anyone with any mountain biking experience.

Everything, a 27.5 hardtail with a 1x front with slack head tube, wide bars and short stem with 120mm travel, what more could you want, this bike is absolutely a steal for $650, carves berms a d rails tight technical sections. Did i mention it jumps like a plane, everything about this bike is phenomenal.

Weakness:

Absolutely nothing, I'm 245lbs and i was able to jump this for the past week on free ride trails at duthie hill like voodoo child and semper dirticus, nothing js showing wear, i make the $4000 bikes look bad in this beast of a ride, fork is a bit heavy but it isnt really noticable.

If you don't buy this bike i feel bad for you, not the best for someone looking to get back into shape as the 1x drivetrain is a bit limited but it isn't a problem for me, if your in yours late teens and stretched on cash but just want to ride then get this bike.
