Favorite Trail:Maromas (CT) and Bobsled (UT)
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $3.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Can fit big ice cubes through opening. Top seals tight. Valve is BIG.
Weaknesses:None significant.
Similar Products Used:Specialized Softop, Specialized Classic.
Bike Setup:1997 Marin Indian Fire Trail
Bottom Line:The best bottle Specialized has ever made!

Specialized has always made the best bottles, and their designs just keep getting better. The Classic is great, though the lid sometimes will crack near the small-diameter valve. The Softop improves things nicely, with a more durable lid and BIG valve.

However, the Big Mouth is the best! The screw-top lid is much better, seals tighter, and allows the use of full-size ice cubes. The same Softop valve (read: BIG) is used, and the shape is perfect. Also, the newest models seem to impart less plastic taste on the contents - a big plus!

Date Reviewed: October 23, 2001
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $5.00
Purchased At:Sports LTD
Strengths:Big mouth makes for easy cleaning and ice-cubes fit through it. Also it is very durable!
Weaknesses:None
Bottom Line:I love this bottle! Wouldn't want it any other way! Everyone should buy this product because it is a great price, and the big mouth makes is so effecient! I didn't buy a bottle for a long time, and I was really needing one. I first picked this bottle because it looked cool (I think simplicity is beautiful), but as I checked it out in the store I was pleased with the shape, easy grip, easy mouth piece, and the big mouth. I am surprised that any other bottle would be different!

Favorite Trail:still searching
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:Specilized on-line
Strengths:- Easy to grap out of cage bacuse of big ridge
- Like other specialize bottles, has tight seal on spout thing.
- "Big Mouth" makes filling easy.
Weaknesses:Limited availability even on Specialize on-line store when I bought. Limited colors.
Similar Products Used:Over the years I think I have tried about every water bottle made. Specialized classic bottles were best, but now there is a new standard in these bottles.
Bike Setup:Rocky Mountian Instinct
Bottom Line:Best water bottles made any where in world. These bottles make my "classic" style bottles obsolete.

Strengths:Large opening with screw top
Soft rubber valve
Got it free when odering from specialized.com

Bottom Line:This is a better bottle than the standard cheapo. The large opening is great for ice-cubes and mixing sports drinks. It's also made with thicker plastic, so it holds up well.
