Strengths:
This pack is very comfortable. It's got the waist strap which is helpful to keep it in one place while I'm bumped around. Outside mesh part is useful for spare innertube, tool,. Elastic will comfortably hold an extra fleece. Inside zip pocket useful for keys, money, id. Very simple design....newer versions of most of MEC's packs now come with a whistle/clip on the chest strap. Useful for catching stray riding buddies.
Weaknesses:
Colour variety-- Blue/Black, Yellow/Black, Black/Black....although it doesn't really matter when it's covered in mud.
Similar Products Used:
Camelback Rogue. At half the price, the MEC pack is a far better deal, it's also a lot more comfy.
Bike Setup:
Giant Iguana--NEW-- stock so far, except for stem.
Bottom Line:
Awesome deal. If you live near an MEC or have access to MEC products, don't bother with a camelback. More bang for your buck, more comfortable pack. Design is not as fancy, but more practical.

Bottom Line:
I've been using this hydration pack for a few years. The only problem encountered is that the bite valve leaks (purple), so I replaced it with a better one (green). The inner bladder was also replaced with a larger Platypus 3L bladder with a zip lock opening which works great.
My only regret is that I should of bought a larger pack (MEC Mountain Fountain Tour R/T) for the 3L bladder.
Note that my hydration pack is pretty old and MEC has since redesigned the bite valve so they don't leak.

Strengths:
Nice contoured shoulder straps which fitted me perfectly. The mesh pocket on the exterior is very useful for storing powerbars, patchkit and pump. Interior pocket is useful for keeping your keys and other small items when you hit the trail and don't wanna worry about having it spill out of your pockets. Have brought it for a day-long ride without a problem. The pack was snug when I hit the trails even when the going was rough.
Weaknesses:
Didn't like the 2L Big-Zip reservoir too much. The ziploc wasn't that watertight after awhile even with a bit of Vaseline applied to the seals. Capacity was limited. I changed over to a 3L Camelbak Omega reservoir which fit in the pack without any problem whatsoever.

On a tight budget for cycling equipment but still need to keep yourself from dying of thirst while on the trail? Go get one of these packs!! Its a much better deal than a standard Camelbak which doesn't even come close to having so many features for the price. If you are willing to overlook the lack of a brand-name, this is it!!
