Strengths:    Holds enough gear for two people, the bladder doesn't have the funky aftertaste of some other brands, rain cover is well designed, the RAM air design actually works, this system seems cooler on hot days, 140 oz. reservoir, fits my wifes shoulders too.

Weaknesses:    More then once, the twist mechanism that holds the drink tube at the bottom of the reservoir has worked it's way loose and dripped out the precious H2O.

    Bottom Line:
I haven't experienced any problems the other guys have had with this product, except the main area zipper is hard to close with a full pack. I think this product is well made, stays cool, delivers a lot of H2O, and is very comfortable while biking, hiking, or kayaking. I am hard on gear and it has held up well. The big test will be if it has held up a year from now.
And REI has a great return policy if I am not satisfied. Something to think about.

Strengths:    Large bladder, slimline design, multiple pockets

    Weaknesses:    Bad design, bad construction

    Bottom Line:
    1. K2 have tried to be too 'clever' in the design of the zip layout. When the pack's full the flap (light green triangle in the picture above) stops you pulling the zips closed fully - leaving an open section in the place most exposed to wind/rain - dumb ! Even when the pack's not full it's way too hard to close the zips completely.
    2. The stitching around the central back pocket failed on the first ride - I took it back to the shop, who contacted the K2 importer and their policy was to send the (brand new) pack off to be repaired. The shop thought customer satisfaction was more important than some lame corporate policy and swapped it for a Hydrapak Keg, which rocks !
