Strengths:    top notch organization with all the separate zippereds pockets, pump sleeve mesh pocket for tube etcs, fleece line iphone pocket and and fleece lined sunglass pocket. and on and on
very cool on the back with the suspended mesh back panel
they thought of everything

Weaknesses:    the zippers are exposed instead of being covered by a flap
no mud cover on the bite valve. I used the one of my mec pack instead

Bottom Line:
I had been looking for a pack for a very long time to replace my tiny 6L mec pack.
version.Yes it is big, but it does not look much bigger than the 12L and it has compression straps which the 12L does not.
wanted a bigger pack for extended rides so after much consideration between the 12L and the 18L I went with the 18L Dakine has a new suspended mesh airflow backon the new 2013 models. After looking around a ton I found Cove bikes in N vancouver had 1 each of the new models with the airmesh back.
The pack is the same as the 2012 except the airmesh back and it includes a Rain cover.
I tested the pack up in Powell River Bc on the weekend did 40km on xc and singletrack in 30'C degree weather.
The pack is very secure and you can actually feel the wind on the small of your back! which would usually be very hot and sweaty.
Very efficient cooling system.
18L gobbles everything you throw at at and more.

Strengths:    18 liters they seem almost double!
with so many pockets can be all very neat
from a purse with soft cloth to own glasses or mobile phone etc to own a place to pack the air pump
the weight is very well distributed barely feeling the backpack
the bag of water is done by hydrapak: easy to clean and with good water flow

Weaknesses:    mine is the older version
no rain cover
and anti perspiration on the back is not anything special

Bottom Line:
for the price 51 euros on a mega promotion ,think its hard to have better
